    Yeah, here's what happened...
"Hey Nico, how about saying something nice about Lewis in the broadcast. There's an extra 10 spot in it for you."
You win the dumbest post of the day award. I'm sure your mom is very proud.
And even more shocking (not really)...you got 2 likes for this. Unbelievable.

Have you ever been a paid TV personality?

Do you think they are NOT given a very clear idea of the expected on-air chatting guidelines and narratives? Kneeling is a form of (sometimes forced) speech for example. So is endlessly blathering on about some driver.

Sir LuLu has been given an undeserved, disproportionate amount of air time over the past few years, especially considering his often upper midpack status.

I've never heard Danica or Nico gush so much about LuLu on air as thry did in Hungary. I think they were made to understand that the public message was to be that Mr. Sir LuLu was going to be thoroughly praised ad nauseam after the surprise pole. That's right. Has any other driver EVER had so many special, solitary vanity TV segments in the entire history of F1, especially in pre-race coverage?? Special "Sitting on the couch with LuLu" pretaped interviews. And "What does LuLu think about this cultural topic" interviews , etc? No. Not at all.

So I take it your answer is yes you believe whenever Alonso or Barrichello praised Schumacher they were paid. Whenever Brundle praises Max he is paid etc etc. Cool, we will agree to disagree.
Also you are right. Sir Lewis Hamilton is a media magnet. They talk about him constantly. The guy captures people attention. Don't hate on him for this . Its not his fault other drivers are boring and don't get much press. If your'e hating on another man because his personality is a attraction, then your'e lacking something.
Again, it's not Sir Lewis Hamilton's fault if Danica wants to talk about him, if Shakira wants to date him, if a site wants to cover a story on him. Don't hate on another man if you don't have this effect. Find your strength.

I have to say I find your last words slightly ironic, taking into account your insistence with the "Sir Lewis Hamilton" thing; no need to "sir" him all the time, that kind of deference is not needed, if you are not British. Find your strength, and stop that worshipping.

I didn't make him Sir. I had nothing to do with that. A lot of people here call him what they don't "need to call" him. Why you only single me out?

Pretty sure Lewis is being cucked by Jimmy Butler atm.

If you believe Lewis is indeed dating Shakira, that is.

I can tell you that titles don't mean much among Brits anymore, even of my generation (70s).
There has been such a number of knighthoods given to people who didn't deserved them in public opinion, that the honour has been devalued for many. Maybe our next monarch will abolish the Honour List altogether ?

A french writer of the XIXth century, Alfred Maury, wrote about nobility - at a time when it was supposedly fading - and said something to the lines of: « Titles [of Nobility] are like money : the more you print of them, the faster they devaluate ».

I don’t mind about the Knight bachelors distinction, but that’s a british matter and protocole.
For christ’s sake, we are talking about a racing driver ! the « sir » thing wouldn’t mark any difference between Jim Clark - who wasn’t - and Stirling Moss- who was -. Or would it?

I know it is Sir Stirling Moss, but to me he will always be simply "Stirling Moss", just like "Jim Clark".

the fact that John Surtees never got one is utterly ridiculous if you ask me. Total mockery.

Beacause of the last sentence of your post, I quote: "find your strength".
Can't you see the ridicule in using a title, when you are not british? What's the purpose here, if not to show excess deferency...and therefore devaluate the strength of your logic? You are looking like worshipping him, and that destroy any logic in your argumentation. And, well: we are talking about a racing driver, not and elderly gentleman, so forget about the "Sir" thing...racing drivers don't get anoblished, do they?

Just for the record, and we are talking about a CBE here, not a Knight Bachelor: Bernie Ecclestone was set to be awarded a CBE in 1996, but declined the offer. In a 2019 interview on F1’s official « Beyond the Grid » podcast, Bernie Ecclestone revealed: “I don’t particularly agree with these things. I think 20-odd years ago, I was given the opportunity, and decided not to”.

The decent thing to do (he already has taken money from everywhere and everyone) I decidely like Bernie. Miss him.

Yes, but we don't know if Surtees didn't refuse to be proposed.
The protocol is that someone must put the name forward for consideration, but only if the eventual recipient agrees.

Plenty of famous people turned down an "honour", and many have gone public doing so.

I just read that John Surtees was successively named MBE, then OBE and later CBE (Member, Officer and Commander of the British Empire), so he wasn't against receiving honours. :)

Question: Does this make Lewis Hamilton a "tool" with an "amazing lack of imagination (or reality)" too?

We don't know how strong Max will be with a WDC team mate. He is not proven in that area. Red Bull with keep far away from a WDC team mate to make him look good.
