I couldn't agree more with this statement.

To add to it, I can't remember hearing "the best sounding v8s" sound better than "the best sounding v12s". This will be subjective to people but I just find v8s incomplete sounding compared to even-firing non-diesel v10s and non-diesel v12s.

599 still looks good. I think it is one of those ferrari v12 grand tourers that didn't have a facelifted version(e.g. TR>512TR>512M 550>575 and F12>812)

If they did it would cannibalize the sales of their beloved sf90 lol

To clarify things a bit, in Ferrari nomenclature, the F 12 was a V12 berlinetta concept categorized as "GT supersport".
When the 812 arrived with a more aggressive bodywork (the F12 having been deemed too elegant internally...), it was between two chairs, and its bodywork and container close to the TDF (...) had it categorized "supersport" .
With 167, we are back in the "GT supersport" category, like the F 12 because the bodywork is the opposite of the 812, simple, conceptual and modern. At Ferrari, "equal container", the style of the design tends to influence the categorization
But, make no mistake about it, compared to these two mentioned above, the content is still supersport in terms of size and mechanics !
    167 is not a DB12 !!!
it is always fire in an envelope in the continuity of the current style, with its own personality.
No idea of the name, which except for the PS to characterize the V12 and ensure sales is generally decided quite late...

    # they fired the V12 development leadership, publicly, humiliatingly, 1 month after SP3 reveal and did not suitably replace

    # they hired a new CEO that is all about electric and help F move to electric

    # Elkann loves electric, V12 is passe

    # Rumor here that F167 was nearly stopped by new CEO but was too far along in development to be stopped, so it was allowed to continue

none of that gives the sense a new V12 engine/block is being created

    and

confidence is high that F167 production will be very low, it may eventually have 5000+ examples but will take additional years to get there, because the Purosangue (a name F sued from its rightful owner to use...not nice) production will use a large percentage of overall V12 production and F will not be able to increase V12 production much beyond 2400 engines per year based on their history

Its great to hear this clarification from day355 about the upcoming 167. The new car should be another Great front engine V-12 following in the foot steps of the F-12 and 812 Superfast and not be a clone of the DB12.

Still nothing from the two dealerships I use with respect to reveal date or for that matter list accruals for potential clients- or I should say the factory hasn’t asked for any nor instructed dealerships to begin any lists for their approval (like they did several months ago for the expanded PS allocations).

My dealership has taken many EOI's (Expression of Interest) with small deposit. They said its more a gauge of interest when the car is revealed. Also said history with V12 purchases etc etc will be a factor in who gets one.

I for one am TOTALLY over the BS allocation stuff and frankly if I get one great, if I dont, so what - I will buy a Revuelto or something else from another brand. Nothing else in the current line up (296, PS, SF90) are of interest to me.

As the F167 is not going to be launched till late first or sometime 2nd quarter of 2024 I wouldn't expect anything till Dec/Jan

@day355 indicates June 2024, and then, I presume production starts January 2025...

So that's 2nd quarter. So my date for Dec/Jan with dealers starting to get a little info and make lists etc would be pretty close

Just cracked 10k on my GTS in three years of ownership. Was down at my dealer today getting a quick inspection to extend my warranty and chatted w them about the replacement. They are thinking that it’s still about a year out from being shown. I made a comment about buttons and how I miss them on new models. He said that Ferrari has heard us loud and clear and models after the PS will be back to “normal”. That’s fantastic news imho.

IMO - it will be shown this year (may at Ferraro Mondiali). Its running around Maranello as per above pic.

Whats the normal timeframe between the completed car running around and it being released?

I would not have thought 6-9 months as it would not stay hidden for that long IMO

Pure conjecture on my part but my guess is that they wouldn’t reveal the replacement until all the 812s have been built.

Non-hybrid is 6-9 months to first production.

Hybrid is 12-18 months to first production

    @soulsea

The 812 was revealed months before the F12 production completed, F12 orders were still being allocated...

I have internal slide shows that I posted of the flagship line with the introduction of the F12 compared to the other lines that show only the California carried the GT description. The flagship was categorized as production super performance not GT.

To fill in blanks I didn’t share, the logic was the comps need to be completed before they show it and the production of the PS is on its heels and will hog the line so they don’t want a huge delay from announce to production. I hope you are correct and it’s sooner versus later but the source has been pretty spot on. In a positive way, let’s hope they are wrong. And production was still a good amount after. Hope solid/shack are right

Personally, I am one of those who think it would be better to leave room free in 2024 for 250.
167 interests a wide range of people and risks monopolizing a lot of attention !
It is for me the most important model for the normal range of its last 10 years

My reference was to general reveal > production guideline.

As to a hint when the F167 will be revealed, rumors range from this September to next June, I know nothing else in that regard. Thus I would expect production to commence 6-9 months after reveal. However, the Purosangue is consuming the majority of V12 production so any 'early' F167 production will likely be sluggish (unless F pauses Purosangue production to allow F167 a more engaged ramp up)
