I've had many discussions with bitcoin advocates, including the guy who launched Binance in Australia, which I dodged a major bullet by not getting involved. What these people all have in common is fervent belief in themselves and great skill at burying you with complexity and jargon. Plus, they never concede an argument. There was no use case for bitcoin beyond organised crime, money laundering and tax evasion. Now that the FBI have worked out how to track transactions, there is no longer any use case at all. It's a ponzi scheme. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/how-did-federal-agents-recover-bitcoin-and-access-a-crypto-wallet-tied-to-the-colonial-pipeline-cyberattack-11623182259 The dirty secret of bitcoin is the vast electricity consumption to do pointless "proof of work" to "mine" bitcoins. Think about the hypocrisy of governments telling people that they must accept restrictions in personal energy consumption to save the planet, whilst they encourage and subsidise vast data centres that crunch away 24x7 for no practical purpose. The chinese are major players in bitcoin mining, which might explain why the media rarely talks about the environmental impact.
Usually for either of our birthdays/Xmas/anniversary I look for a 20 year old tipple but ran out of 07's....so an 08 will have to do: Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’m not generally a tin-foil hat person, but when I realised the characters for “Satoshi” contained the characters for”china wins” - lets just say my scepticism went up a notch... The government lets the miners run because it’s bringing money into the country by selling to overseas suckers , er clients. Chinese themselves aren’t allowed to hold it since a few years back. China is also launching its own domestic digital currency; in fact I think some public servants are already paid this way.
