Don't want to resurrect old posts and given the time they may have updates not posted. Long story short, just bought a 488 spider, had it transported and drove a couple of times. Got in to take out after work today, but the TPMS lit up like a christmas tree. Back left tire completely deflated (most likely drove over something that punctured slowly). Currently has older Super Sports. But would like to get input. Right now where i live (suburbs of chicago) it would appear that Michelin Cup 2's (not connect or 2R's) are cheaper than Pilot Sport 4s's. No track, but also no driving except for when the sun is shining. So don't expect any water on pavement issues where i would want 4s's. The price difference is not huge, so no real issue other than if not an issue, would just go with the Cup 2's and pocket the $150 for the set of 4.

Any and all assists greatly appreciated.

I have both (two sets of wheels) on my 488. In your situation as described, I’d go with the 4Ss and enjoy the extra tire life. The cup2’s need a bit of heat to work properly, and if you are planning on driving in Chicago in winter even when the sun is out the PS4Ss are a safer bet

My two cents is to go with the original equipment tires. They were selected for a reason and after testing on the Spider.

Have Cup 2's, no issues, great traction, don't drive unless it's dry and reasonably warm (above 45)

Drive in the winter in Chicago....ARE YOU CRAZEEE! I live here, one winter or even a part of one and that car will be earmarked for the junk yard and the crusher. You have to really get off the street by early November and not go back out until April when the streets are clean and free of all the elements.

With that, I would replace them with whatever tire the car came with. My SpecialeA came with Cup2's and they are great.
