Heavy delivery today : 11 years of Racing Activities Image Unavailable, Please Login Also included were 2002 and 2003 media books by the Gestione Sportiva. Does anyone know if there are older editions of these yearbooks?
Maybe we should have a separate thread under this section called "...the mails arrived!!!" for book deliveries ?
One book thread is enough to follow, never mind all the ones about individual books…which really should be in this thread anyway.
Hahahaha, it was more of a cheeky comment by me more then anything. Agreed, one book thread is enough.
Oh, so no video series with a famous car book collector visiting other car book collectors to talk about car book collecting?
Does anybody have any news re the Girardo/Bluemel 550 Maranello Prodrive Book, that originally was supposed to come out in February 2023 (Retromobile Paris presentation)? We are now six months later and it doesn't seem to be done so far? Marcel Massini
Latest news was a message from rallywebshop (the site where I ordered) on July 6th, announcing the expected start for deliveries mid-August - the new delay reportedly caused by "a supply issue with the material used for the books' cover".
Yeah, right. And hey, it's only 6 August and not mid-August.......... Alright then, I will try to continue to be patient......... Marcel Massini
Like good old Shakespeare wrote: "I do oppose my patience to his fury, and am arm'd to suffer with a quietness of spirit, the very tyranny and rage of his."
I can't see them all selling out at that price any time soon. And I wasn't joking when I said we'd be lucky to see it before Christmas. It's almost like they "soft launched" the book to test the market response a few months ago at the exhibition and then went about completing it months later.
My patience is slowly turning into fury over Eau Rouge's Mangusta book. It's been almost two years since it was announced.
2 new books are announced by Porter Press: "Ferrari 166 MM 'Uovo'" by James Page "Ferrari 250P/275P" by Keith Bluemel Hugo
Hello, I know how you feel, I would obviously dearly like to see this book come out, I finished the text -100000+ words with new research and many interviews-and photo gathering -including a treasure trove of archive photos and four fresh photoshoots and test drives- in June 2020. However my publisher has had to deal with a lot since then, including a big family business that was impacted very hard by the Brexit chaos. I last saw him at Le Mans Classic early July and he stated he wanted to get it done asap. Having a ready book not come out is painful believe me, but sometimes circumstances are not favorable. I have done all that is in my power but, still, I will not give up pushing.
Thank you, it is the second time I go through this after an instance with someone else for another book a few years ago and it is a sort of purgatory, a tunnel seemingly without an exit. When you have done a book, you need -unless you are a robot- the emotional celebration of it being printed, of holding it in your hands.
