And speaking of waiting, the Enzo Ferrari biography has now been pushed back to early 2024.

After several years and many missed target dates, I will be more than a little surprised if it arrives by then. It's a Doug Nye book. If history offers any sort of insight, early 2034 is the more likely scenario...

 

By Luca del Monte (the road Daytonas) and Keith Bluemel (the competition cars). I think "Ultimate" refers to the price as much as the content...

I think I've got pretty much all of those (and some others...).

Incidentally, I understand the book and memorabilia collection of well known English restorer etc., Terry Hoyle, will be auctioned through Hortons (that might mean Collecting Cars since they are connected) shortly. I understand he has some very interesting things so should be worth looking out for.

I never did either. I haven’t read the auction details yet but the price seems pretty good.

 

I sold many titles to a fellow FChat member, but still have an extensive collection, and that's not counting my brochure collection.

Collection sold for US$8,000.

Just finished looking over the collection.

The condition of many of the books varied from poor to average.

From my estimation there are really only a handful of expensive, rare books there.

Fair price ?

 

I don't expect to live long enough to ever see that.

 

Lets hope Doug Nye lives long enough to finish all those promising titles (BRM volume IV, Enzo Ferrari photo biography and now NART).

 

I hope I live long enough to read it all!

 

Given the very troubled gestation up to this point I don't have much hope for ever seeing it published. Even Porter’s announcement was a bit tentative.

Doug, it is perfectly OK to be a bit selfish here. To be honest, I was too (I want to read those books)

 

Newest footage about the 550 Prodrive book shows that it comes with a grey or white slipcase instead of a beautiful red one as originally planned. Well, I would have liked the red one ...

Maybe it comes just in white. Looks like the grey slipcase is a reflection. Agree the red shown at retromobile was beautiful.

 

It must be sold out. McKlein has a “notify me” button on the web page and Girardo’s web site doesn’t have a “buy” function.

 

Definitely a reflection so slipcase is now white.

Agree the red version shown on release is much more eye catching and in "Ferrari style".

Are they just doing just one version of 550 copies or are they planning an extra limited, luxury, exclusive, special owners, VIP version as well ?
