The hood on the CMC Ferrari Testaroosa developed a rash; it polished out but returned again.................

Looksmart. Got the winning 488 a few years ago from them and was very happy with it so hopefully same quality.

I'd say with its maiden victory, 100 years of leman celebrations, 50 years since its last Ferrari entry, 10th Lemans win, the 499P will be one of those models that ALOT of model makers will replicate over time.

BBR are off their heads...600???? Looksmart wiil be half that, and the same quality....of course, they will sell tehm easily, so maybe they're right, what do i know! I'm sure i can get it for about 400e, but still not interested...it's just not worth it, not for me at least.

    same for me
I don´t want an empty box for 200€
I would like the model on standard leatherette base and a bigger label with all information on it

Bburago has also announced their version, for about 90 euro.

Yap, i hope they do a decent job...but i doubt it, Elite was just the perfect mix between price and quality, Bburago had been a huge diapointment...but if you have to have it, and don't wanna pay big bucks, that's your option, heck, i would take it if had to pay 400€ or more for the alternative....

It depends on the source material. For example a Porsche 962 has relatively few details on the body, so a cheap Norev will do just fine (instead of a Minichamps or Spark). Another example: my LaFerrari and FXXK by Bburago look fine enough to me, no need to buy a BBR version.

Check out this video if you love the CMC Ferrari 275 GTB/c in 1/18 scale.

    Here is the 1:1 version.

Looks like the first batch of BBR 1/18 499P’s are sold out.

I’m sure BBR will make another round or two with different color bases.

This weekend I received the 250 GT Lusso by KK-Scale. In pictures on the internet it seemed a bit off in the shapes and lines and it also seemed a bit crude regarding the chrome details. Especially compared to pictures of the Lusso by BBR.

But now that I have it I'm very happy that I did go for KK-Scale! Very nice model and a bargain compared to BBR.

I chose the metallic green with tobacco version. Such a classy combination and something different from the other models that I have (which are mostly red and some blue).

The only negative detail to me are the wire wheels. I will probably replace them with BBR wheels, as I've done with many other models.
The photo-ets side window trim looks flat and bulky in pictures, but in real life there's a fine crease that makes all the difference.

the green Lusso is one of the best models BBR ever made
the only thing I don't like is that cheap chromed plastic grill

a KK model is less than 100€, you will not find a green BBR for less than 500

Looksmart is good but I prefer the small superior details on the BBR. Hopefully BBR will make further builds of the 499P.

I have to be honest, i have compared many of their models, classic lm cars and new ones, and i do not consider bbr to be any better.
Depends on the models, one brand gets some details better, and the other gets some other.
I'm pretty sure the 499 it eill be very equivalent. Remenber MR/looksmart in the oficial Ferrari model maker, so they get cad design directly from Ferrari.
The big diference is that MR, os as expensive as Bbr but they only make modern cars, the f.1 or fport cars fall under the umbrella of looksmart that is way cheaper, but just as good. The bbr version of the 499 will be almost double the price of the looksmart, and i doubt any better, so for me it's not a good option.

I have a limited experience. Looksmart's 1/18 of the Ferrari F60 America had some cheap details, the taillights were not molded in clear red. Their 1/43 Ferrari FXX-K in launch colors was nice but not quite the 9/10 that is BBR, more like an 8. It's ok, I like Looksmart but from what I've seen, they are slightly inferior to BBR.

As i said, it varies from model to model, remenber that in modern models, MR, the older brother to Looksmart is the more expensive one, so there must be some diference, but the racing models, sports cars, f.1, old lm racers, it's looksmart the only one, so they are just as good as the bbr.

I’ve just received 3 Bburago models: 296, SF90 and Daytona. For the price point I think they are great. Starting to wonder if I should cancel my Looksmart 499P order and wait for the Bburago one…

Finally got an F40 LM. Tired of waiting for Looksmart, I bought the one from GT Spirit. It's exactly the version I've been looking for.
I won't be leaving this one alone! I think the headlight pods are too narrow. It might already help to replace the clear covers. They now have some inaccurate red frame that make the pods look even narrower.

I'm thinking of buying a Looksmart 1:18 of the 499P and making an after race, weathered version. Thoughts?
