Well, rumors say it was stolen in Germany 1996. Broad Arrows seems to be informed about this…

 

Its missing a very valuable stock exhaust system. It has sticky interior pieces. Loose interior/carpeting panels, a custom, redesigned glove box door with non matching leather. Many good close ups of the shift knob but not a single picture of the dash. R/F fender has been repainted and in several photos it looks like its been lowered. Seats look like a very real possibility of sun damage but the leather has had so much greasy stuff smeared on them its hard to say for sure.
Too many little things easy to take care of not done. Car was not cared well for and not presented well.

The only good reason to buy an M is for long term value. This is not a good candidate for that.

 

Good catch on the glovebox. Considering the amount of transmission sealant, there may be more where that came from.

Wrong toolkit.

 

Original tool kit and original pouch with service book seem to be still in Germany with the last owner of the car before stolen.

Yes, a Ferrari guy since a long, long time.
The theft was likely reported to Ferrari and I‘m pretty sure it was registered there. I cannot believe that the official dealer in Denmark did not recognize this theft.

 

Right. Some "reputable" entities aid and abet fraud, whether it's a $1k lot or multi million lot, through incompetence / negligence and deliberately.

So the car was near new when stolen. Presumably the former DE owner had a Vollkasko and was reimbursed by the insurance?

 

Maybe. But the car is worth triple nowadays. And he is still the owner of the car under German law.

If he turned in the Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I und II and the insurance reimbursed him for the loss how would he still be the owner?

Was not aware of it until an exchange between Marcel and myself but that sort of thing is quite common with Japan. I guess they are quite happy accepting nearly anything as proof of ownership on cars imported there. Stolen cars very commonly pass through Japan and come out with very legitimate looking documentation.

 

If cars were securities there'd be plenty of 'honest', 'reputable' folks going through the ringer.

There are many well known ways to avoid it. People CHOOSE not to avail themselves of those for many reasons. The most disappointing one to me however is very common throughout society, business and politics. If it means getting it cheaper, greater profits or getting elected its worth turning your back on right and wrong. I strongly suspect Mr Victorias Secret chose not to hire Mr Massini prior to his purchase.

A lot of claims are being made - is there any proof of this at all to backup these so called rumors?
Or are the above just a matter of spreading rumors to be able to bid on this car at lowest possible price

Pretty strong accusation for a nameless, faceless person even more likely to have improper motives than 500TR who has history here and is not hiding his identity. .

Sounds like a call to do due diligence to me. Never a bad thing unless you are the seller and have something to hide.

Stolen or not, that car would not be on my list for reasons already stated.

This identity is a complete fake. Not the owner but maybe another person who has some interest in the car.
