I was wondering where the engine was located. Still "up front" and fulfills the definition of "mid Engine" like the S2000, Viper, etc have in the past with at least 50/50% weight distribution.

Automobili Pininfarina unveils the new topless Barchetta – now the most expensive EV on the planet. Less than a week after teasing a new “collectible masterpiece” codenamed the B95, Automobili Pininfarina has just unveiled the EV – which we have learned is called the Barchetta. This extremely limited production run electric hypercar feature blends past and present with an entirely open top and a “world’s first” aero screen design. Such rarity comes at a price.

I like the Mustang GTD. $300k is a lot of money for a Mustang but if I had endless cash and a collection of cars, I'd pick one up.

I believe that 'front mid engine' requires that the entire engine be rear of the front wheel centerline & does not imply a 50/50 weight distribution.
Just ask John "I'll tell you where to stick your engine" Dinkel -

Not what I expected. Its fine, just not special. Will probably sell well. Lambo is, imo, doing a much better job of transitioning to younger generations than Ferrari

Agree. Location from the front wheel centerline appears to be the demarcation line to technically meet the definition. However, debate arises when "some" of the engine (accessories) gets located in front of the axle line, thus making some cars more (or less) mid front engine than others.

Front mid engine seems to be about intangible bragging rights and f/r weight distribution where more on the back is better.

A good example of muddying the definition is the progression of Miatas over the years:

There is only one generation of S2000, but the plastic air cleaner rides forward of the demarcation line.

Of Vipers, the Gen 5 is typically regarded as the most "pure" example of achieving front mid engine status:

The Ferrari 599 is also said to be front mid engine, but who truly can validate?

The whole "front mid engine" thing is silly. The engine is in the front. It's like a 2 1/2 car garage...unless you have 1/2 a car, it's a 2-car garage.

Better shot? Yea, seems to confirm that the black plastic wheel arch molding is attached using tywraps.

Every August sine 1975 there is a festival celebrating to automotive culture in SE Michigan, on the famous Woodward Ave. What started out years ago as an homage to Detroit Muscle Cars has turned into a creativity fest for all things automotive. Along with the regular muscle cars, I took photos of vehicles that struck me with a designers eye and some personal favorites. Just a few photos try to do justice to the unbridled creativity.
