My watch guy is finally getting my watches done. This one belonged to my great uncle and only needed a new crystal. Waiting on my King Seiko and Rolex Speed King from the 40s. The Rolex belonged to my great uncle as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The watch? No, I bought it new in 2003 (y serial). The Emory outlaw? It’s a 1958 but I only just bought it this spring.
Omega 50th Anniversary GMT - Gerry Lopez Limited Edition. Back from a bike ride at the coast, going straight into the ocean with in soon.
Beautiful! My next watch will be a Sky Dweller. Trying to decide between the blue or green dialed steel or a rose gold model.
While I love Rolexes, and have several, I can’t understand why they feel the need to write so much crap all over their watches advertising features. For me it keeps them from getting to the next level of beauty.
Blue Skydweller is my fav Rolex. Otherwise, not a lot of Rolexes catch my eye at the moment. Now Breguet has my a bit obsessed of late - starting to look for one.
It is really not about beauty. I wanted to make sure that when I fall into the ocean and sink to the bottom down 12,800 feet, that my watch will still be working........
Why wear a Rolex to Walmart? Watch $29, on sale. Replace strap - $25. Shipping & tax - $10. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The above quoted post is from 8 years ago. I wear it today every year. Here it is 8/21/23. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
I bought a very large safe to consolidate all of my stuff, so rotating the watches. I haven't worn this in a while and forgot how comfortable it was. A poor man's Aquaterra. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I feel the same way, their designs just seem to me to be the most elegant and stylish……like Maserati in that respect. But like Maserati, I’m concerned about value retention.
They definitely do very poorly in value retention. However, if you buy lightly used, most seem to be selling at close to half of list price, on the wholesale/gray market. Probably at that percentage discount, won't take much a hit.
