PDK is fantastic -one can drive as a manual if one wants or leave it in the selected mode -Clearly you have never driven a formula car with a Hewland ,once rolling I never used a clutch .
What I found ODD compared to when the Tassie ferry was in Port Melb -was the lack of signage on the Geelong Hwy , one small sign to turn off -once off the confusion of which way ..to go. TBH half the fun of a rally for me is getting lost !
Not when you're trying to find your way onto the boat that's taking you to where you want to get lost.
Why don't YOU just GO direct to the ferry and let us others meet at the intended meeting spot, all I'm trying to do is make sure we go on as a group so minimize door damage on the ferry and we all get off the ferry as one group.

you know well that it takes real skill to use a Hewland dog box, particularly for downshifts. Mastering it is one of the most satisfying aspects of driving an actual race car - it's the best gearbox I've ever experienced and just as fast on upshifts as a DSG. Whereas any idiot can tug a paddle and have the computer do the work. Even Wes couldn't fook it up.
How did you go on a pre select gearbox that takes skill as do most prepare cars,little skill in a 60 70s gearbox Imo

it's a ripper dry Gin the ist one mentioned. Carl might take his 450SE down as I told him to order some of the selected better Sparkling wines from the Island . If we take those 2 cars we could do one of the days drive in the 2 saloons .
Should I go down to the North Shore and take more photos including ones of the ferry ? It's hard to miss the ferry, in 15-plus trips since 1980 I've never missed it .
