Hi, I am trying to update fchat's wheel weight database.

Does anyone have an OEM 348 or 355 wheel sitting around they could quickly throw on scale and report its weight? Any data welcome (348 17 front/rear, 355 18 front/rear OEM/challenge)

Here are the OEM V8 wheels I found weights reported in various threads over the years. That 348 number seems really high?

    348 - 17 x 7.5 - 28.6 lb
    355 - 18 x 7.5 - 22.0 lb

    360 Star fish - 18 x 7.5 - 20.6-21.2 lbs
    360 Star fish - 18 x 10 - 24.5 lbs
    360 Modular front - 18 x 7.5 - 25.4 lbs
    360 Modular rear - 18 x 10 - 29.2 lbs
    18in Challenge front - 19.35 lbs
    18in Challenge rear - 22.1 lbs

    430 19in front - 26 lb
    430 19in rear - 29.8 lb

F355 wheels are a magnesium-aluminum alloy. Magnesium is lighter than aluminum.......

I bet if you searched around you could get new wheels in the 15-16 pound category (3-piece forged)

Unfortunately I can't help as my 348 rims have tires on them but anecdotally I can confirm you, they really ARE heavy. I thought my Alfa 916 17" OEM Teledials are heavy stuff but 348 OEM wheels feel even heavier, substantially heavier.

I just weighed my spare, bare front and rear standard 355 wheels on a postal scale. The front was 21 lbs - 6.8 oz and the rear 23 lbs - 13.6 oz.

The 348 wheels I have are fitted with rubber. But they are certainly much heavier and noticeably so than the F355 wheel.

355 has less overall spoke and is magnesium. The 348 is aluminum and has a lot of mass/thickness in it. The 360 starfish are very svelt. Not surprised at all the 348 wheels are several pounds heavier.

    Thanks all!

Invaluable as I grow the database.

Still looking for 348 OEM or 348 GTC wheel specs w/o tires
