Hi, I know, taste differs and is very personal. I struggle if I order my 296GTS in a "boring" but for me nice higher spec version or if I go Viola Hongkong. With RC the accent would be the airbrush scuderia shield and complete exterior carbon fiber. I don't like yellow calipers with rosso corsa so I decides for silver which will also be in the interior. With viola Hongkong I don't like the oversized airbrushed shields and I like the matte optic of the sideskirts and diffusors; right now I think taking the standard ones or in CF which I then will do matte PPF on them. Interior stitching and horse should match exterior color which was not possible with the standard configurator (on the attached images) Config is also like this, because the price of both are nearly identical. What do you think? Do you get fead up with viola? Really that much money list when reselling the car? Your personal opinion?? Thank you very much !! Rather than tell you what color you should like, as you said thats personal, so that would be an impossible mission, I suggest you go with whatever spec makes your heart sing the most. Just be honest to yourself. I don’t think either spec will be impossible to sell if that time ever arrives. People are more and more open to non traditional colors, so I dont think you will be super dangerous with VHK. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Get what you actually like, you won’t lose any money unless you do something like this: Image Unavailable, Please Login
You should get what you like and drive even though you loose money. I drive my F8 every day even though that makes go down in value. Whats the point of a museum piece a 296 is not an Enzo.
thank you for your honest opinion. But besides the reselling issue, which would you choose, if both we equally favorable for you ??
Personal opinion, but I think the airbrushed logo is too large for the very small area on the fender that's available. Contrast that to the 812, which has a much larger area, and it looks a bit better there. That photo of the Roma must be photosopped. I had shared an image of a 488 years ago that looked like a Ronald McDonald/Barney house... This one looks like a copy of that. Also, have a frank discussion with your Dealer's GM, not your sales rep as they control nothing, and see when your allocation actually gets built. Many are prioritizing brokers, clients with favorable trades, and high MSRP builds. That may influence your overall build if it means you'll get it quicker, otherwise your RC build seems amazing.
Again since you asked. not viola. the 296 is a classic shape it needs a classic colour, not a shouty one.
Thank you very much, alot of this was new to me. It is my second Ferrari and the 1st factory new one. It seems buying/configuration process is do much different in comparison to my former brands (e.g. Aston Martin/McLaren/Porsche). Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Wow I stand corrected, I did not know the Dino was ever in that color. I have only seen it with ‘shouty’ people at local track days down here…
It’s in the name… Viola Dino [emoji16] There’s also Blu dino View attachment 3571894 And rosso dino View attachment 3571895 The Dino was the funky kid back then
It’s still “funky” 50 years later and yeah looks good in any colour - both classic colours and brighter hues like nocciola, Rosso Dino, Azzurro Dino etc (tho I may be biased). Seems like the 70s were more fun and certainly more colourful!
given this is your first new Ferrari and you seem to be really hesitating I would suggest going with Rosso. Less risk of buyers remorse and then save the wilder colours for your 3rd or 4th Ferraris. Anyway I think colours like Viola go better on the special editions (“VS”) but that’s just me.
I don't dare to write that especially to you, but my plan c is Grigio Titanio [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Also I wouldn’t get the painted shields on the 296 as the area of the wing between the wheel well, top edge and door is fairly narrow so it looks out of place - too large. Works well on the bigger cars like 812 but not the 296.
I think Viola may be great in theory but ask yourself if you will enjoy that colour over a long period of time. Ultimately there are not bad decisions to be made here.
I have a Viola Hong Kong SF90 Spider and love it. Went with yellow accents inside. With that being said, I think the 296 looks great in so many different colors, I'm going blue.
I understand that. What I do not like is the difference in color between regular shields and the rest in yellow (caliper and center cap). That is one of the reasons why I like painted shields because the colour matches to the rest. With a red car it would be an accent (don't like stripes). But thank you for all your input!! That’s why I’m thinking of getting CF shields (aftermarket) along with CF hub caps, and my calipers are already rid. I want to get rid of the yellow completely.
If you are concerned about the yellow not matching it is much less cost to change the wheel centre caps for the carbon version which you can order on the car from the factory or you have the option of a replacement set of centre caps from your dealer in gloss black or silver. This is the gloss black dealer fit option centre cap on the forged painted 20'" wheel for example. Image Unavailable, Please Login
