To reiterate, this thread is about personal preference, so no one should be offended by the preference of others.

I know I’m in the minority, but I greatly prefer the Tributo over the Spider based upon the following:

    1) I truly dislike top-down driving (unusual but true)
    2) Greater structural rigidity
    3) Lighter weight
    4) Exotic appearance of Lexan window / engine
5} Less prone to squeaks, rattles, air or water leaks, etc.
    6) Quiet cabin allows for greater focus during spirited drives
    7) Potential power operated retractable hardtop issues negated

I prefer the looks of my tributo over the spider but prefer the looks of my GTS over the SF. Go figure

    >> I thought Ferrari had solved the high-speed wobble issue in spiders from 488 onwards

There is some location dependance to the question.
Australia in spring and summer = spider
UK all year round = Tributo
Chicago in winter = well enough said

In almost any sports car/exotic (there are a couple exceptions), I personally prefer a coupe. I will also say that some hardtop convertibles in a few manufacturers/models , are really appealing. I really like the flow and transition from roof to rear on coupes vs convertible. I chose the Tributo when buying my F8. Top down fun for me is my Jeep Wrangler.

A little off topic but I ordered a gts over gtb because it looked less Lotus like. Nearly every other model I prefer coupe. Or a hatch back if we are talking F12!

I agree with you 100%. The 296 is the one Ferrari that looks better in a Spider version than the Coupe.

I prefer the Spider because open top driving on nice days is awesome!

The structural rigidity issue not important to me as I do not track my car and it is more than stable enough for my spirited driving.

Exactly what Bernie said. So we can’t see the engine, not to worry because we can’t hear it either. Lol

I'm with you. Nice to take the top down once in a while, but I personally appreciate it a lot less than most people. So for me, the other things you mention tip the scales.

But I totally get why some people are drawn to that top down experience. That's why I'm glad Ferrari makes both!
