Has anyone ever managed to delete the cats and replace them with straight pipes on a EURO 5.2M F355? Just curious because I couldn't.

Why couldn't you? It's just a few bolts. Very simple.

Couldn’t because you got a CEL?

I get a SDL first blinking than solid and bank shut down. SDL is right from the start with cold engine. I installed Technistrada dummy loads but still no good. I installed angled mini cats O2 sensor extenders no good. Checked the wiring from ECU going to CatECU and measured voltage seems fine. I never got a CEL light and the bulb is in there and working. I've never been able to read any fault codes though I'm not sure why? I can read all sensors using Car Scanner app., or the Torque pro app. but never managed to receive any fault codes? Only managed one time to clear the `SDL light just to find it lit again the next time I started.

Are you sure you plugged the Technistrada parts into the plugs for the main cats? On the right (passenger) side, there are two plugs, one for the bypass and one for the main cat, and it's very easy to mix them up. I did this myself and it tripped an SDL, but never shut down a bank. Just gave me a flashing light.

Did you do any other work on the car while you were doing the cat delete pipes?

Yeah, the slow down should be due to the cat temp sensors, not the o2 sensors (which are what the straight pipes mess with). You should get a CEL, not a slow down light.

I did with O2 extenders and got a constant CEL but although it had a cool scream, the tinnitus was unbearable.

It is an EURO spec Car so it doesn't have a bypass-cat.

Yes that's what I believe also. I had already a blinking SDL upon start with my cats installed so I was thinking a faulty CatECU. Instead of spending money on a new CatECU I thought I will spend it on straight pipes(always wanted to try them) and get the Technistrada dummyloads and be done with the anoying SDL. Only thing I can come up with is an intermittent contact/ broken wire in the harness from CatECU to mainECU?

You don't have a temperature probe on the bypass? (circled in red)

Ahhh....yeah, I doubt the cat delete pipes have anything to do with your problem. A bad connection or broken wire may be the culprit. I have delete pipes and the Technistrada plugins for the past couple of years (5.2 car) and have never had a problem.

The blinking SDL I had already but it never gave any problems. But when I install the straight pipes the SDL becomes solid and shuts down a bank. Why? When the catECU's are no longer inline and replaced with dummyloads still the SDL becomes solid and bank shut down. So the dummyloads don't work (feeding 1,5V with a battery also doesn't work) I have my cats installed back on the car now with the blinking SDL but no solid SDL so no bank shutdown. I gave up.

There is no logic explanation I can think of. Maybe the 5.2M EURO spec F355 have a different mapped Main ECU? That's why I asked if anyone had managed to install straight pipes on a EURO spec 5.2 M F355?
