    So he bought the rights to the film and remade it in English or revoiced it? If it was revoiced, you couldn't tell at all!

    Also, the film didn't depict his wife as crazy. It depicted her as a victim of his passion for Ferrari and his mistress. Maybe I'm dreaming, but I thought it is well documented that his wife was crazy. The movie made Enzo out to be the crazy one!

    The impression i got was that it was "voiced over", but that really doesn't make any sense as - since you said it yourself - it doesn't even look like it...! i think the movie was incredible...

    In light of recent posts, maybe Count Volpi is the one to ask to find out the truth of that matter... Did you get the email i sent to you last week...? Are you trying to ignore me...? You're doing an awesome job... :D

    There were so many threads about this that I decided to post to the oldest one.

    The film will debut at the Venice International Film Festival on August 31. Early reports are that there’s a lot of gore associated with the racing scenes which are centered around the 1957 Mille Miglia. I really don’t like dramatized biographies or histories very much because there’s inevitably some fictionalization. I prefer a well done documentary like the Senna film done about ten years ago.

    Theres a documentary that will be released next month on dvd and BluRay about Nigel Mansell’s time at Williams.

    Looks good with the exception of the old racing movie cliche: Shift up and go faster.

    I wonder why real racing drivers haven't figured that one out yet...

    Forgot about that, just looked it up - great scene too. Seeing this shot of Enzo makes me think that movie might end up with the best representation of the old man. What a shame, now I have to see Kylo Ren cry for the second time on film

    "I just watched Michael Mann's "Ferrari," starring Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz, at the NY Film Festival. My review is running next week but I just want to say, Wow. It is certainly one of the most authentic cinematic treatments of motorsports ever. They recreated DePortolo's cart-wheeling crash in the 1957 Mille Miglia that killed nine and injured many more. It was horrifying.

    George C. Scott would have been a great choice to portray the old man. I'm watching Patton tonight.
    I don't quite see Penelope Cruz as Laura, but hell I'll watch her in anything.

    After this there will be a street in the factory named after Micheal Mann.

    He's done as much as Luigi Chinetti over the past three decades to promote the Ferrari name and product in the USA :)
