Today FL FERRARI had an event for the F1 screen showing. While looking at a Pista Spider I noticed the kick panel on the passenger side off and they had the attached Noco starter/charger connected to the battery There were no service personnel to ask but interesting if this might be a fix after hearing all the terrible things about damage that can be caused to the lithium battery. Does any one know if this might be a large capacity lithium charger? The charged is three times the size of the Noco 40amp I have.. Next service I am definitely asking. That’s good to know….Main concern has been with jump starting the Pista with the lithium on a dead battery. When mine went dead the dealer had advised against jump starting. It was a hassle and trailered in for a new battery.

They’ve always advised me against jump starting also but mine have not been lithium(F430’s and an F8)— Mandalay finally convinced me to get a NOCO non spark, non surge, reverse pole protection etc one so I did and I put it in the bonnet for if needed.

I know the Pista lithium battery is a completely different animal though.

I find it so amusing when I recommend a NOCO that there are those that were supposedly told by Ferrari NOT TO USE THEM :)

This NOCO unit the G15000 is a charger and starter However it will also charge and start lithium batteries.

Thing is if your car doesn't start and you require a starter to get it going the battery already has some damage and I would recommend changing the battery.

IMO its overkill, keep the car on the tender and just get a NOCO GB 70 for normal batteries or units like this G15000 that are also recommended for Lithium batteries
