    I get 1211 Lambda regulation error after the car gets warm.

    I’ve replaced both 02 sensors and cleaned the MAFs. It seems to rub rich. It has a hard time idling when warm, almost staling out. Code goes away above ~3000 RPMs, on both banks, but then May flash back on quickly.

    Does this sound like a tuning issue on those throttle body screws? Need the MAFs rebuilt?

    Possibly air getting into the intake after the MAF (leak).

    I checked and I don’t think so. The codes seem to come on together, and turn off together.

    There is long-term and short-term lambda codes, I forget which cide is which, I'm not on my computer. Every time I've seen those including on my own car it was either the fuel pressure regulator or the mafs. I've had O2 issues but those never throw those lambda codes. At least not for me I think there's an actual O2 sensor code from. Memory not sure, not at computer.

    As you say, it seems odd that it would be a MAF, FPR or O2 sensor as you have both CELs illuminating. There are dual sensors and separate intake tracts. Even O2 heat has separate power sources on the 348.
    Unless there is a typo in the WSM, the codes for LTFT and STFT are the same. And “Lambda Regulation” is somewhat vague, making the problem harder to diagnose.

    Look for things common to both banks.
    I think small air leaks are hidden at higher rpms because of relative airflow. Could this be causing your CELs to extinguish at higher rpms? Dominick suggested the evap system. Does the 348 have a single evap valve?

    Ah, so I have the adaptive fuel code.

    So further diagnosis…
    I start my drive by deleting codes. Drove it 30 min hard and hot, no codes, car ran so perfect. Stopped for gas, a bit of positive pressure in tank, fueled to full, started and codes started occurring but car still running good. Codes kept coming on and off a lot. Eventually came on and stayed on. I read codes while driving. 1211 (lambda), 1114 (02 sensor), 4121 (cat temp, I have no cats) on both banks. Deleted codes, while driving. Drive at least another 30 min hard, no codes. Hot day too.

    Dang, I can never remember how the table is divided. I think we have debated this before with Miro.

    Doesn't the dotted line in the error type box show the code line?

    Either way, you end up with 2 faults with the same 1212 code.

    Maybe I'm just going off my notes that I pulled from the manual here's what my notes have, could have made a mistake.
    • Lambda sensor 1114
    • Lambda regulation Additive value for self adaption 1211
    • Lambda regulation multiplicative value for self adaption 1212
    • Lambda regulation intake manifold compensation 1212

    Following the logic of the table, I can only interpret the codes as follows:
    Lambda sensor .............................................................. 1114
    Lambda regulation ......................................................... 1211
    Additive value for self adaption Lambda regulation ............. 1212
    Multiplicative value for self adaption Lambda regulation ...... 1212
    Intake manifold compensation valve ................................. 4111
    (Looking at the descriptions in the Italian column makes it easier to see how the descriptions relate to the code numbers)

    Don't worry, we are just having a friendly debate. The translations from Italian to English in the manual can sometimes be very confusing.

    Is lambda sensor the O2 sensor? I’ve seen a chart showing 1114 is O2 sensor.

    Now, the second I turn the car on, both engine lights are on, even after deleting the prior codes. For o2 sensor. I just changed the sensors so I guess they’re not compatible…. Ugh

    Yes, Lambda sensor is the O2 sensor.

    Not sure what you mean by the second you turn on the car. If you turn on the ignition but don't start the car, bit CELs will come on. It's part of the self check at start up.

    When you actually start the engine they can stay on until the self check is completed.

    If they don't go out it is sensing a problem.

    You symptoms from post #1 are still indicative of excess air getting into both sides. That excess air is sensed in the exhaust by the O2 sensors which tell the system to add more fuel, pushing things to the rich side. Depending on the amount of extra air getting in this can push the O2 sensor request max allowable fuel trim triggering a CEL. When you step on the gas you let a lot more air into the system and the amount of excess air getting in may be a smaller percent of the total air and the fuel trim can drop back to within the acceptable limits and the CEL will go out. If the O2 sensor stays pegged at max fuel the system may think the O2 sensor is bad hence 1114 (I believe), and that it is not switching fast enough, 1211 (I believe). (I could be wrong on exactly what 1114 and 1211 mean.)

    On your last drive, refuelling the car seemed to trigger the lights. Could there be a problem with the evap system? That is probably common to both banks.

    Can a fuel-saturated evap canister cause a rich condition?

    Hey all, we lowered the resistance on the MAFs and twisted in the throttle set screws all the way then backed them out x3 full rotations (I used a color marker to mark the tops). The car is running great now!
