Inherited a project with the alternator removed and need some input on the correct connection for the three alternator wires. Red is obviously battery but then there is also a white and a blue. One appears it should go to the brush assembly and the other to the case. Anyone have a picture or a us wiring diagram. All we can find is non US wiring and it appears to be much different.
I have a 1973 US diagram. There are no color codes. The large gauge wire (red) goes to fuse on firewall then on to amp gauge but you know that. That is shown as terminal 33 on alternator. Terminal 31 shows going directly to ground. Terminal 67 also goes to fuse on firewall then to terminal 67 on regulator. In the 76 shop manual translation by Bob Wallace it shows A at alternator going to A on relay. B+ To battery F On alternator white wire to regulator - On alternator case to ground.
3 are Red, White and Blue/White Red for 60Amp fuse, White for 8Amp fuse, Blue/White for Yellow wire which goes to 3 o'clock alternotor position Are you usng the original American alternator with pump driver? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
