You said all that and it doesn't compare to putting your hands on some one. All that you said is above physically assaulting some one.
I like him, as a driver, actually; it is obvious to anyone that he has achieved great things. And I do wish indeed he would not leave Formula One without a few more wins to his credit, 'cause seing him leave without those few more wins would be unfair and undeserved. That being said, "time waits for no-one", and as a character I couldn't care less about what it is been said here or there. But I refuse to believe in him like a God who can walk on water. I like balanced views: obviously Lewis Hamilton is not without his faults. Which faults tend to appear more and more as he has to eat humble pie, because now he's got a second-rate car. Rgds
One of my school teachers, almost fifty years ago, used to say "adversity is the real test, when your true colors shine". Rgds
Grow up and be a man for god sakes. If you call a push, physical assault, there literally is NO hope for you in the real world. None. I'm glad he pushed Ocon. And you know what I'm even more glad about? That he didn't succumb to public pressure and remained his stance, refused to apologize. Whether what he did was right or wrong is irrelevant: Max stands by his words/actions and I value that miles more than some fake PR motivated ******** than 90% others do. And that's what you still do not understand.
Of course you are glad he did it. Not surprised. You support behaviors according to who does it. rather than standing to say when something is wrong.Thats says alot.
Agreed. Describes Sir Lewis The Petulant perfectly Now that he no longer drives the most dominant F1 car in a generation (at least), now that he's continually being beaten by other drivers, now that he's no longer being coddled by the stewards ... we ALL see his true colors emerge. No one with a pair of functioning brain cells will be the least bit surprised. I'm sure his one or two defenders on this thread will continue to worship him no matter what (are there more than one or two left? they're on ignore, of course ) ... but their posts are more irrelevant than ever.
Nope. I've had this attitude long before Max even came near to F1 and I'll continue to have that same opinion long after he leaves. Remember lewis' ''boys don't wear dresses'' saga? It's an opinion he had and he's fully entitled to it. Of course within moments the usual lot went after him and of course, Lewis a day later made an apology. That wasn't the first and certainly wasn't the last time he walked back an opinion he had. Lewis always tries to please others and even forgoes his own opinions, just to stay relevant, be popular, whatever you want to call it. I've said it plenty of times, I'll say it again...I'd rather drink a beer with someone who you'll know what he says is his real opinion rather than someone that says what he thinks you want to hear.
No need try to patch it up now man. You already spoken. You will support wrong depending on who is doing it. That's a difference between us.
When you look at all the great champions in Formula; Michael Schumacher, Senna, Prost, Fangio, Vettel, Stewart, Lauda, Alonso, Hakkinen They have all had times where they earned their titles. They raced against true competition over and over. They worked their way up to the top. Sometimes they had dominant cars, and they didn't waste it. With the exception of when Senna and Prost were teammates, they crushed their teammates regularly. When they didn't have the best car they were still winning races and perhaps even fighting for championships. At times they were ruthless. 99% of the time they raced for themselves, because they wanted to win. The mindset of a champion. Yet they still respected their rivals. All of them spoke the highest of their biggest nemesis. It's like they belong to a club that only they can understand. If they talked amongst each other, they would know each of them understood the challenges to get into Formula 1. The challenges to race their way into a competitive seat. The challenges of beating their teammates with the same equipment. The pressures of being a champion and having to defend against all the hungry wolves wanting to beat you. The pressures the media and fans force onto a Formula 1 champion. Because they all went through it, they don't need to talk about. It's like a Band of Brothers. And then we have in the corner, Sir Lewis Hamilton. The most entitled driver in Formula 1 history. Was spoon fed with all the benefits since he was a little boy. Being put under the McLaren umbrella by Ron Dennis himself, at age 13. Yet he likes to tell stories of how hard his life was and he suffered in a different ways that other drivers can't understand. He likes to throw the race card around though even his own dad is on record stating how his race has benefited his career. While pretty much every other driver has to work their way into a top team and the best car, Lewis Hamilton was gifted a championship contending car in his rookie season. And despite being the 2 time defending F1 champion, Alonso was given equal status to a rookie... which reports suggest changed to preferred treatment towards Hamilton. Unheard of. There is no denying Lewis Hamilton has had some high level teammates in his career and he has been beaten by these teammates multiple times. Jenson a champion due to a dominant car, Nico a champion due to a dominant car, and George Russell who gained all his hype by beating Latifi, a driver that would never be in F1 if it wasn't for his billionaire dad. Lewis Hamiton was privileged with some of the most dominant cars in Formula 1 history. A level of dominance that only allowed the 2 drivers within the Mercedes team to compete for poles, wins and of course the championship. He enjoyed this luxury at least 4 times. He had the best car, arguably a dominant car 4 other times. To date, he has had a championship contending car 12 times in his 17 year career. Unprecedented to say the least. Not unknown to other champions, but Lewis had the benefit of the FIA and Formula 1 themselves protecting his advantages year after year. Lewis' popularity grew bigger than ever with his success and the way the media (primarily British media) put him on a pedestal. It allowed him further benefits such as using the Formula 1 stage to push his own political agenda. No BS, he was virtue signalling. And despite all the success... 7 championships, 103 wins, 104 poles, hundreds of millions of dollars, etc... he is so self entitled arrogant that he can't even be thankful or respectful about it. Continues to throw his team under the bus over and over again. The same teams that gave him unbeatable cars. He uses the same scripted praises to his team, or fans, only when it benefits himself. He refuses to give credit to other drivers that have remarkable achievements, and chooses to disrespect them by downplaying it by coming up with some reasoning that protects his ego. He often uses his words to try to make himself look good, but his actions always seem to tell a different story. His questionable driving tactics, his refusal to participate in events with other F1 drivers, boycotting the F1 Gala. He doesn't follow his own agenda he tries to force on the people of the world. This thread is "Hamilton deserves more respect". I disagree. We should all respect when a driver does something great, and Lewis has done that many times in his career. We should all respect when a human does something amazing and great as a person. Lewis has surely done that as well. I think. But over the years Lewis Hamilton is showing his true colors more and more. The most arrogant, self entitled, narcissistic driver of all time. As he continues to lose we continue to see proof his achievements were not down to his greatness, but because of all the benefits he has had. I think Lewis Hamilton deserves every bit of backlash he is getting. His legacy is built in fairy dust and he is showing to be genuinely not a good human being. While my feelings towards Lewis as person is of my own opinion, all of his narcissistic behaviors and his overrated driving status can be backed up with facts.
Fantastic post! Well thought-out, well structured, nuanced, giving credit where deserved ... and fair criticism, as well. Thank you! Sadly, the complexities and nuances of your post will be lost on the idol-worshipping fanboys (who will likely respond with the typical half-sentence drivel) No matter. The other names you mentioned ... Schumacher, Senna, Prost, et al ... were true champions. Hamilton, in sharp contrast, is a woke champion ... and it's becoming more and more obvious, to everyone, with every passing race.
All past championships have faults. I heard drivers say negative things about all past champions. No past champion is an angel. Sir Lewis Hamilton has many fans. Sir Lewis Hamilton has many haters. This is a common theme with past champions. This is in alignment with the history. Don't kid yourself thinking that this is something new. All past champions try to prop themselves up. Whether its Senna using a excuse that he can go for a gap thats not there. Or Schumacher driving into some one to uphold a championship. No past champion is an Angel. Name a past champion who said "I am not a good driver". They too prop themselves up. Past champions are not the standard. They didn't create the sport. They have no power in dictating a standard. They are flawed as well. I respect the past champions, but I hope Sir Lewis Hamilton never is like the past champions. He creates his own lane.
/thread. Absolutely 100% on the money. And for those wondering why Lewis gets so much stick over things like this...it's precisely because he's been painted as Saint Hamilton, He who can do no wrong, the Choosen one, the permanent victim status...many of us saw through his BS and had to deal with those that didn't not just want to see it, but are constantly being insulted simply for pointing stuff out about LH, or not calling him the GOAT. We've seen friends banned from this forum more than once due to calling out trolls that have zero interest in Ferrari or F1 at all...all they want to do is spread the word of His Lewisness. That's why many of us are gloating for mistakes he makes that others also get vilified for even years later, or calling him out for his BS.
Still utterly incapable of basic comprehensive reading. Genuinely amazing. I'm not patching up ****. I just don't care for fake fools that try to pull the wool over our eyes.
So I come back to this thread occasionally to witness the train wreck. I wonder how long ago this discussion would have died without ktu, who has apparently chosen to die on the hill of Lewis Hamilton. There are better causes out there upon which to devote your seemingly limitless attention... The last two seasons speak for themselves. No amount of pitiful hyperbole will change that. Forza George Russell!
As usual, perfectly stated. Hopefully, BOTH sides of the Hamilton debate will read it, take heed of it, and act like...grownups. One can hope.
So I guess I made all the post to get to 314 pages huh. No body else participated huh. They said I can't even comprehend. So how can I create 314 pages of dialog? Ok yeah. There are better causes out there to die on than a Hamilton hater.
A question of clarification, if i may ... Could you elaborate, a bit, on why it would be "unfair and undeserved" if Hamilton retires before winning another race? In my view, he's only entitled to wins that he actually earns or achieves. In your view, does Hamilton "deserve" something more? Forgive me, but this post only emphasizes what many of us have been saying ... Hamilton and his fans feel, quite strongly, that he is "entitled".
Some of you remember the post I made after the race. I said Sir Lewis Hamilton will still be the main driver that is discussed here, even after Max broke a record. Now you see it comes true. Such as the other drivers interest is non existent.
Well, sadly, just as many have chosen to "die on the hill of Lewis Hamilton" as a paper champion. In the end, he is a 7 time WDC and no amount of hand wringing will change that.
I was going to ask the exact same question. After a full career of winning cars, championship cars, full on dominating cars... all that gave him 103 wins and 7 championships. Why would it be unfair if he didn't win again?
Without realizing it, i think, nerofer has underlined and emphasized a point that many of us have been making for years Sir Hamilton the Entitled
