And there has also been extensive coverage of Lualdi Gabardi by Doug Nye in GTO64.

What does anyone think of this upcoming book from Schiffer? Does anyone know Daniel Reinhard? It rather bothers me that the main car on the cover is NOT a Formula 1 car, but I don't know how much that might matter.

Daniel Reinhard is an internationally well known and highly professional motorsport photographer of Swiss origin. Maintains a huge photo archive with millions of photos, not just F1 but also many other motorsport categories.

The cover photo of the Lotus 38 is a curious choice. It is not a F1 car and it never turned right or raced in the rain. The iconic Indy Ford V8 only competed in F1 with Mclaren and it was not a success.

You can see some of the pages here https://www.amazon.co.uk/Inside-Formula-Behind-Scenes-Photography/dp/0764366793

It doesn't look terribly "behind the scenes" to me. Rather, a fairly standard selection of photos which, from the samples, are fine but not at the highest level. Clearly, when you look at the description the "Formula 1" part of the title is rather misleading too, since some of the sample photos, like the cover shot, are very definitely not of F1.

Book was originally published in German, and is actually very well done. Many pictures and stories you won’t find elsewhere.

What's that expression.... "don't hold your breath !!"

I'd be very surprised if that date is not just auto generated.

It might be the most brilliant book however if it’s about F1 why have an indycar on the cover.

Interesting. His previous Maserati books from Dalton Watson have been outstanding. Wonder how this will compare to Oosthoek and Bollée's 450S book?

Does it cover individual designers (Giugiaro, Gandini, etc) or just the carrozzieri?

Currently available at amazon.co.uk and Motors Mania shop for those interested.

Had to purchase mine directly from Italy.
Covers individuals if they were part of a Coachbuilder. Ital Design & Giugiaro are synonymous, Gandini gets 1 pg & Giugiaro gets 15.

All in all, very comprehensive. But I'd quickly point out it's an encyclopedia of the coach builders, not full length stories of each. That's better left to the specialized histories of the individual shops.
