488 Few questions…..2017 488 spider

Hi, I sold my F430 and recently purchased a 488 spider. I will post pics when it arrives.

1. Does anyone know if all 488’s came with a magnetic battery tender? I don’t have one with the car and planned on ordering. I assume it was lost between owners.

Has anyone tried one of these?

2. Has anyone installed the carbon fiber air intakes and know how difficult it is? I want to add them and wondering if I can do it myself.

1) Yes, a battery tender was supplied by Ferrari with the car. They don’t work all that well so most owners switch to a CTEK battery conditioner (I chose model #9002). You’ll need to acquire the interface connector separately (available on eBay).

2) no idea.

My cover came with a slit for the magnetic charger already in it.

I've installed CF air intakes, not overly difficult, however the air filter is far back underneath the wing so getting the top to sit correctly can be fiddly, but on a scale of 1-10, it's still a 1.

For reference, the magnetic part of the charger that comes with the Ferrari charger is the same as a CTEK, you can buy that on Amazon, but I think it's pretty expensive

Thanks! Silly question I cannot figure out shopping online: do the add on carbon fiber air vents simply cover the existing? Or do the painted ones actually come out before you install the new carbon fiber ones?

They are replacement parts... the painted factory ones come out and carbon ones go in.
