They are here. They mentioned an overlay ontop of the garage floor to bring that elevation up. I told them absolutely hell no, so it looks it all needs to be torn back up and reformed.

    Ideas?

I still believe you need to remove material to lower the ground to get less angle.

Or the fastest way would be them paying for a lifting system to your car;)

There's something wrong with me because I say throw the entire house away and start over. Lol

But on a serious note it will take a few but I'm sure they'll get it right. May want consult an architect to come up with a solution and make the contractors follow that. It removes the guess work.

PS: My apologies if you've already tried that.

yeah, but wife loves the house and I do too........ but hating this driveway situation.

I told the guy today that they need to hire a engineer or something because they cant just guess and hope it works. Meeting amongst them all tomorrow morning.

Is there a difference if you reverse out?

You could make a winding turn to the left like Eau Rouge. Less sloping. If you own the land next to it?

I've never tried. Was always told that reversing uphill will destroy f1 clutches.

If you have proven the above picture setup works, make the new driveway to match. Make it a compound angle (two X degree inclines instead of one 6 degree incline). Just make sure the drain at the garage door is sufficient to prevent flooding. Won't look the best, but would function.

Simple work for a civil engineer with some dimensions and survey points. Trial and error with concrete is not the way to go. Hire your own civil engineer and get a drawing and simply solicit bids on the drawings. Look for a performance bond on the contractor. Good luck on your project.

His project is over and luck waved bye bye to him already. Wish some skill on him instead.

Well, I've already put 8k down (halfish) on this job. He mentioned getting a engineer. They apparently had a meeting at the house amongst management so waiting to hear how that went.

What a mess, I hope you get this all worked out.

If they don’t hire an engineer.. they could make ramps (strong enough that you can confidently drive over) until you’re satisfied with all the angles and then replicate the ramps in concrete.

I know I'm late to this $#!+ show, and hopefully it's all under control now, but I feel compelled to point out that garages are supposed to have a 1/8-1/4" per foot slope toward the door to allow fumes and liquids to flow out. If your latest calculations assume the garage floor was flat, you could still be in trouble.

Based on my calculations and a quick CAD study using the car dimensions you provided, you can only have a 3.8% slope (~2.25 degrees) to keep from hitting the ground based on a 1/4" per foot slope in the garage.

Thank you very much, but I already tried talking about slopes and degrees but their eyes just glazed over. They'd rather eye it and take the chance of my stabbing a mother ****er .

The removed about 2 feet of earth. You can see from the old forms. This deleted the step down from the driveway to walkway. It's alot better, but needs to be shaved down just a bit more based on my ghetto jig. They want to do a test pull out tomorrow on some plywood. Not sure how this is going to happen. If it works, they will have to dig all that dirt up, bring in gravel and then poor concrete and hope the slope is the same.

Judging by all of your other posts, I am assuming that you live with your parents. That is really cool of them to do all of this work to their house so you can get your car in and out.

    JUST KIDDING
