That is great news, where can I buy one? Currently, I’m in misfire alley and have ruled out everything which points to bad wires. Thank you again.

Andy, thanks for the glowing remarks and endorsement! It's been a really fun & rewarding journey coming up with improvements for the 550 & its contemporaries. Ferrari could have done a much better job in many areas, but that's hindsight of course.

My pleasure, I always try to give credit where it is due. My only question is, how do I proceed with ordering a kit?

We haven't established a final price or availability just yet, but I'll PM everyone back who have expressed interest in the kits. As you've seen, the first field trial kit is out there now and we may want to do some fine tuning of it before we release more. I'm working with a new harness maker so we're taking baby steps and testing/improving as we go. The rest of the kit is well proven and needs no further refinement.

Right, Nick! It would be great if the standard 550 kit/harness would work for your car. I've forgotten, are your igniters mounted on the inboard or outboard sides of the air boxes?

Please let me know if you’d like to use my 2001 456mgtA as a test bed. The firing order is different but it shouldn’t matter as the wires and coil packs do not dictate the firing order, only the computers (I can confirm this as I recently tried using a coil pack from a F50 and it ran great, the same coil pack is also used in SAAB’s, only downside was fitment). The automatics have a much larger problem with misfires than the manual cars at idle as the engine is still under load at idle. Take advantage of my mechanical background, I’d love to give you my input and would be able to give you feedback within a day as I drive the car almost every day. eurocarandy at yahoo dot com is my email incase you’d like to discuss further. I’m Happy to pay for everything up front too. Thank you

The MSW COP is probably the best MSW creation. I hope they will one day be available either through MSW or Ricambi like the sway bars. Not everyone needs the sway bars but everyone needs the COP's. There are only positives and no negatives.

Andy I'll be in touch and we can discuss. And yes, you're absolutely correct, the 550 kit should work just fine on your car by swapping 2 wires in each of the harnesses to account for the M's odd firing order.

Thanks Carl, you're too kind! You're probably the oldest user of the COP setup besides Dave & myself. It's been at least 10 years or more, right? So how has the setup faired on your car? Any issues whatsoever? Have you had to replace any of the coils? These Hayabusa coils are nearly indestructible but it's certainly a hellish environment in the Ferrari plug wells.

Zero issues! The MSW COP system is as stout and robust as the day I installed it. Every OEM should take lessons from you and Dave.

    Not a chance :)

Thanks again Carl for the great endorsement! I do tend to overengineer stuff, but then I don't have bean counters or shareholders that I have to make happy before my customers :)

Well, I managed to get the COP kit and the radiator fan relay kit installed this past week. I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures of the relay kit install. I can say that the fans move more air and are noisier. I have taken the car for a few drives and I believe engine temps are more stable. I am running the original fans/shrouds. More testing to come.

I pulled the air boxes to make it easier to install the kits. It helps make it easier, but getting the boxes out/in is a bit of a pain, especially with the car on jack stands and not a lift.
    COP kit installed:

I have taken the car on 2 limited test drives. When I say limited, I mean limited to 60 mph and 5K rpm due to traffic and radar traps. I have covered about 100 miles since installing the COP kit and it has performed well so far. I'm trying to find some place where I can push it harder without ending up in jail. There are no good roads here on the Eastern Shore of Virginia to really push the car. I have found a few issues with the wiring harness. I shouldn't really say issues as items that I think could be improved upon. John and I have discussed these items and he has discussed them with his harness builder and the changes should be in upcoming production harnesses. I have more tests to run and provide feedback to John. I won't be able to complete the tests this week and next week I will be out of town. I hope to have testing completed by Oct 8th, then John will have to decide next steps.

I have tracked my 550 on the original MSW COP with zero issues. I'm an SCCA national clubracer so "theoretically" capable of putting a car under pretty high stress. The rpm's aren't getting any higher and the heat build in the engine bay isn't getting any higher than what I have put that car through. I find the COP's flawless.

The originals are an archaic design.. I think the coils were used in Fords, so Im pretty sure that the Haybusa pencil coils are a huge step up. Also the original cables are NLA so if they break which they are prone to your kind of hooped... or looking for a billion dollar set of used ones that could be bad too

FBB- There is no question that the COP's are bullet proof, you and others who have had the original kit have proven over the last 10 years. The question here is the harness. It has been made by a new supplier and is this new harness build as reliable as the original one.

If you look at a ferrari injector harness you would be sad. Believe me that John can build a better harness with scraps around his house than an OEM Ferrari harness with the world at their disposal. I very much doubt there is anything to worry about with MSW. What I have learned testing and using many MSW products is that every product was built beyond what an OEM would manufacture because John and Dave used their own products too. We are lucky to still have John as part of the community.

You will have to ask John. I think I have an early version but I have Denso Hayabusa coils. I thought they were always using Denso coils.
