Whom will "Pay the Rent"?

It actually is VERY simple - a process for Aboriginal representatives, voted onto a panel by Aboriginal people, who will advise the government DIRECTLY as to what THEY want to see happen in their communities. It os that simple - replacing the existing government non-Aboriginal advisors which makes (often poor) decisions that affect aboriginal people, with advisors ELECTED by Aboriginal people. That’s it. They will not be able to appropiate funds, simply ADVISE the government of what Aboriginal people ACTUALLY need.
Classic case of this is remote Aboriginal housing - the fact that Aboriginal people do not want the standard suburban house was identified before I started my degree (bloody long time ago...I’m now officially ‘retired’ from the Board of Architects) yet what has government continued to send to remote areas - standard suburban houses! Total waste of money and a frustration to the tenants.

 

And what exactly is Jacinta’s proposed solution?
