FWIW I dont know why you just didn't get a large sheet of galvanised steel put across the dip with some boxing tube under in the middle ?

Would have saved all that money , fast and easy.

    My 5 cents

Thought about it, but would be dangerous as hell in snow or rain. Also would be loud when driving over it.

Having what doubts about my decision makings lately lol

They poured again yesterday and will pour more today. I dunno man. They had to reform once again yesterday morning while the concrete truck was waiting because I showed them once again that it was wrong. Who know at this point.

Oh wow no show, now you have a cold joint in the pour and on a slope is not ideal.

A cold joint is a concrete pour after the first pour has had time to set. It could become a weak point with issues in the future.

Yes and it could "heave" with moisture getting in the joint and becoming uneven as it's not one piece like it should be.

You could ask them to add rebar to the first pour by drilling horizontally into the first slab and tying into the the rebar of the second pour.

Well, the pour ended at the drain. But yeah I'll ask them. They told me all along that it would need to be 3 day pour because of the slope. Is that not correct? What about big driveways? Surely those can't be poured ok the same day?

Usually they would cut the drain later. Big driveways and foundations or poured in a day as that makes it the strongest and usually the least amount of problems as long as it was a good mix to begin with.

Well the way things have gone with mine, pouring the whole thing would have been a **** show since it already had to he ripped up once..... and who knows about the latest pour. I'm going to pull it out this morning a little and check my clearance. The idiots build this giant ledge leading into the garage that needs to be taken out. I can't even roll my grill out of the garage with it there.

I'm honestly confused as to what to do. I hired a reputable construction company and they subcontracted these idiots to do the job.

No offense but this looks like an absolute disaster in the making. That garage lip is horrible and now you have a cold joint. What’s gonna happen to the nose of the car when the wheels are in that drain. Won’t be good.

And you still don’t know if the grade is correct.

Rip it out and start from scratch with someone else.

Can you grade flat from garage to street and add walls?
Do you have an HOA to deal with?

It has been a disaster. I think I've made that clear. I'm still waiting to talk to the owner of the construction company. I'm assuming he's pissed. So far, he's taken responsibility of the disaster that this has been, but wanted to give one more chance to make this right.

I pulled the car out just now, very slowly. I have SLIPLO Guards on the bottom, so that protects the carbon fiber from minor scrapes. When the tires are over the drains, that's drop the front low..... until I hit that ledge and it raises up.

Contract says that the car will not scrape the ground or they will fix it.

Just talked to the owner. I lost it completely. Not my proudest moment.

I brought up the ledge. The cold joints. Everything.

He said they no-showed yesterday because the owner of the concrete company decided that he wanted to pour in 10 foot sections at a time and have me drive out each time to make sure it doesn't scrape. So 80 foot driveway. Cant drive on new concrete for a week, So we're talking a 56 day pour? That's when I lost my ****.

Anyways, he said he's going to be here monday with a new concrete company.

Good I was going to suggest getting a couple different concrete guys to come out and give bids and suggestions. They will be really harsh on the current contractor as they want you to go with them but they might have a better solution for you.
