    Hi.

My 488 finished it's 7th year service contract last year. Now it's time to service it out of pocket. I saw in the quote estimate from the local Ferrari dealer an item called:
"Factory reset fee" for equivalent to 300+ USD !, they told me this is something imposed by the factory itself and not under their control. I'm not sure what does this "factory reset fee" involves, and why a regular oil service requires it?

I believe the little green wrench can only be turned off 7 times… after that, either live with the green wrench indicating service due light on or have it reset to give you 7 more or whatever amount the reset gives. I believe this is the ‘factory reset’

It's actually the opposite of that. After the 7th time the green wrench does not come back to tell you about the need for service UNLESS you pay the fee to have it reset. I didn't do it on my 458 and the green wrench does not come on.

Ah, that’s even better I guess. Better than seeing it lit up always.

Yep, and if you go into the Service menu on the left screen it no longer shows miles or days until service is needed. As long as you can remember when your car is due for service no reason to pay to get it reset:
