    Very nice Dino ?
This is no longer a Dino.

If that is real, it has involved a great deal of effort judging from those few photos.

Looking at those 3 pics, I cannot tell it is not authentic.

My first thought was scam, BUT, when it clearly says it is a fiberglass body on a 308, AND the pics are hard to tell and look right, but the interior still looks a bit off, maybe....

The fact that Marcel said “Replica” added some legitimacy to the add, not that he intended to (not saying he blessed the 308 chassis story), caught my eye.

I have seen quite a few replicas. If this is real, it is VERY good. The pics don’t show details.

I don’t want to say this is good, but if true, someone spent serious money. If there is one, there will be more.

I guess the days of making your 246 look more like a 308 are long gone (that is throw back for newer members to an old post about “Dino Upgrades”)

I AM DOING MY BEST TO GET NEWER OWNERS TO POST!!!!!!

The gauges look to have the same font as a 308 but says Dino”. Dino 308GT4? I believe the 308GTB and the 246GT have the same wheelbase and track width. Would give you most of the mechanical and electrical parts to do this. Somehow I have less of an issue with this and more intriguing vs converting a 246GT to V8…less of a sin?

My guess is that the car exists, but the "scam" question is whether the listing itself is legit and from the actual owner of the car.

It seems likely it exists based on this more detailed 2013 auction listing (https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2013-03-09/car/1975-ferrari-308-360-dino/). Assuming that 2013 info is correct, and this is the same car, it claims to have begun life as 308 GT4 (would presumably explain Dino gauge markings). The serial number in that 2013 listing is #09264 (I think Dino's (246 and 308 GT4 had different serial numbers than Ferrari). The 2013 auction listing says it was paired with a 360 engine at the time, the current listing power output and carbs suggests they are claiming it has a 308 engine.

Maybe the historics listing is a completely different car, I don't know.

If the listed car has a legit SN, then it's worth something. Far less if it doesn't have a valid ferrari/dino SN and is just a collection of parts.

I have to say, in the big picture it is a bit of a compliment to have a car about which people will spend significant time and money trying to replicate.

From the terrible Kelmarks, to the English cars that had that odd saggy rear, to this example, people seem to want a Dino.

It happened most conspicuously with the Cobra as well as MG T-Series, less so with Porsche speedster, 904 and 550, along with a terrible copy of the AH 3000.

So…as the years go on, a question that might start popping up that we will be asked is: “Is that a real Dino?” Ha!

Further…..if this is a Dino 308GT4 rebodied as a 246, we may be entering the obtuse space once occupied by 330GT 2+2 being rebodied as GTOs and Cali Spyders.

“Oh! But it is a real Dino! All authentic Dino parts!”

    Where have we heard that?

If it was built on a 308GTB, would it be a real Ferrari and not “almost” a Ferrari?
