What a bunch of stupid red-rooster eating racists.

 

My youngest had her final year 12 assembly today. An acknowledgment of Country was delivered by one of the students whom is of aboriginal background. The school is what you would call a top tier private school. They’ve had a program that has been running for about 20 years where part of the fees I and other parents pay go towards a scholarship for indigenous girls whom otherwise would not have the opportunity to experience a world class education. They take about 5 girls every year, usually from remote areas and provide full board, education etc.

This particular girl whom delivered the A of C today showed how it should be done. She acknowledged the usual stuff but also acknowledged and was extremely grateful to the parent group whom had given her the opportunity of a lifetime. In her own words “I’m the first in my extended family to ever finish high school and can’t thank everyone her enough. Everyone at home is extremely proud of me”

It was really emotional stuff.

That is how you make positive changes. Provide a decent education so they then can become leaders of their respective communities etc

Happens no matter whom is in government. That’s why creating another advisory committee, The Voice, will lead to more waste

 

Really, so because one school helps five students and one student thanks the parents that fixes things . How about the massive issues across the nation where there is not effective feed back to govt and has not been .

The former Govt had an appalling record in indigenous affairs , they had a we know best top down approach , ken wyatt tried his best however was not successful in the getting the right wing of the LNP on board. So more of the same or hear from the grass roots what is needed .
