I was originally planning to drive but that sounded more and more suicidal so now flying. Get gouged on flights too. I’m sure parking rates will be $100/day at least.

F1 tickets are on the secondary market now.
Flights are tight and expensive from where I am (a major hub) but going earlier and leaving later helps.
I can't speak to hotels, I'm using a timeshare week that I was able to reserve before the date was official.

I can't imagine not finding lodging and food in vegas for F1. Vegas swallows thousands of people for all kids of events much more popular than F1 like CES and SEMA. There is a,ways a room in vegas.

I just read (that's not first hand information, I know there's a lot of crap circulating on the net) that MGM resorts is subjected to a cyber attack that disturbs all its information system - if true, it may not help.

I heard room rates are dropping. But it’s still expensive. I checked the Flamingo and it’s $350 all in nite. But the weekend before it’s $49 plus resort fees and taxes. Which is like $80.

If Vegas bumped up prices for F1 they might be finding at $2500 for tix and a known season outcome that this isn't a good value.

I still think it will be cool to see this 1st race. We can only hope for excitement like qualy in Singapore so we don't fall asleep.

I just read an article in the paper yesterday about ticket prices for the race and hotels are dropping to get them sold, still a good bit left.

Rooms on average are 40% lower than when the F1 tickets went live.

What tips and tricks can F1 race goers offer? At the race I see the big screens. Is there commentary that is heard over loud speakers? Do people order the F1 Ap and listen to live commentary on head phones? BTW...there are no support races because of the deal F1 made with Vegas business. That's also why the race is late at night because it is the casino's quietest time and race will minimally disrupt.

Early Sims of F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix Circuit Get Cool Reception by Engineers
The inaugural Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix is still two months away, but the 3.8-mile street circuit has already gotten the attention of team engineers in charge of mapping out setups and tire strategy.

The biggest early concern, engineers say, is the weather. And, no, it's not the typical desert heat often associated with Las Vegas. During November, Las Vegas is downright chilly by F1 standards.

Race-time temperatures for the night race—remember, the Las Vegas Grand Prix scheduled for Nov. 18, has a 10 p.m. local start time (1 a.m. ET)—are expected to be in the high 40s-F.

" I think, so far, from the work that we've done, it's got many long straights, quite a few low-speed corners, not so much high-speed content so maybe a track similar to Baku, that sort of layout," said Jonathan Eddolls, head of trackside engineering at AlphaTauri. "The temperatures are going to be probably one of the biggest challenges. I think we're expecting circuit 10 degrees(C), (50 degrees Fahrenheit) of ambient, so very much like the winter test.

"But then, you know, in many years, we've done winter tests in Barcelona at those sorts of temperatures. So it's not going to be completely new to us. But definitely, it's quite a step away in terms of where we're going to be operating the car and tires to what we're used to in a normal season."

Ayao Komatsu, trackside engineer at Haas, is already planning his team's tire strategy to reflect the chilly track temps.

"Yeah, I think it'll be a big challenge for us, especially our team, with the tools we’ve got in terms of a pre-event simulation," Komatsu said. "(We're) more limited, let's say, than Mercedes, so we’re going to have a big challenge on our hands. But yeah, still a very different temperature window.

"So we’ve got to get the tires to work, but if I had to choose hot or cold, I would choose cold conditions at the minute. So hopefully you can get it to work and it’s a challenge we’re looking forward to.

According to the National Weather Service, the average night time temperature for Nov. 18—right night—in Las Vegas is 46 degrees.

"That's often a region where you go winter testing, you do a run, it's very difficult for the tires to either get them switched on, or there may be graining and things," said Mercedes engineer Andrew Shovlin. "And then sometimes you just wait until it warms up a bit. So actually going to have to sort of race and qualify in those conditions, it will be interesting, but you just try and identify the risks with the new circuit, work out what your contingencies will be, whether you need any sort of specific car spec to deal with that, and we’re going through those at the moment.

"But as I said, if it's at the very cold end of predictions, it's difficult to know how they are going to work."

10pm-12 midnight on a Saturday is a slow time at Vegas casinos? I don't have an opinion, but surprised that this is true. When are they busiest?

Honestly, its all about the bodies. The more bodies the more gambling day or night. The F1 race will bring in a lot of bodies, and a lot of them from outside the US which is why they wanted it. Foreign visitation has been down since the pandemic but UP significantly domestically.

This should be my seat. Across from The Sphere. The stands are still under construction. A pedestrian bridge is supposed to let us cross the track to get to the facilities there (food, drink, restrooms, etc. We are all hoping they turn the Sphere into a giant TV screen for the race. No one seems to know what they will do but I imagine its pretty spectacular.

Here is a look at the Paddock from the Monorail as of yesterday so most likely you can see your seat in this view. Its a mad rush to finish.
