Yea- Understand that! I am not a big fan of the side strakes, or the very short and sharp front end. And it looks like the door opening is "impossible" but I do like the greenhouse and how it blends into the rear end. And the rear fender shape. But it looks like it would pretty impossible to put a driver or passenger inside that greenhouse. As an engineer (and not a designer) I tend to look at the "feasibility" of a design. And this one has some big misses there. But, as a design concept I think it has some potential. And one of the things I like is it is not another "cookie cutter" look, which seems to be the way of new car concepts. I think we have reached a point where designers have (in general) hit a plateau in design concepts. All is so much the same as what is out there. Especially with"super cars". Everything looks like a Gran Turismo concept car. What I want is somebody to come up with a new interpretation for a car like the classic Figoni/Falaschi cars from the 30"s. When the silver Delahaye owned by Ted and Mary Stahl purred across the stage of the 2023 Detroit Concours d’Elegance, it was hard to imagine a more delightful day. Only the wispiest of clouds appeared in the September sky above the Detroit Institute of Arts, serving for the second time as the backdrop for a prestigious celebration of automotive excellence. Around 100 years ago, Joseph Figoni founded the firm that would become, three years later, Figoni et Falaschi, the original makers of the curvaceous bodywork adorning the one-of-five 1939 Cabriolet crowned Best of Show this year. Those black AI cars and some of those vintage designs are just too bubbly for me. Kind of flabby. I do like Figoni et Falaschi.
This is one of those AI renderings that need to be in the "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" file. Just remember, this is only the beginning. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I absolutely love it. Some will claim its retro but the fact is while designs like this were drawn in the past, they were never made. So lets make them!
Saw the new Cadillac Celestiq today. Not remotely my cup of tea, kinda wouldn’t want to be seen in it, but it was interesting to actually see one. At $300k a pop I wonder what their initial sales projections are, they must figure the market for it is there. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
