Excellent references. This 250 P5 Berlinetta Speciale is something spectacular. When I referred to the glass roof, I didn't mean a common roof, but something similar to your examples. What came to my mind was a reinterpretation of the Mythos roof, in which the windshield extends towards the roof like a fighter plane cockpit, especially in Pininfarina's drawings of a coupe version. I think it will fall into the 512S area 2 low to wide and not really a gran Tourer look but the idea is great and I understand what you mean. The Mythos was really amazing when Ferrari first showed it.
The possibility of a split rear window (which the aerial image suggests), a similar concept to the '63 Corvette, is not what it will be, according to day355.
I meant from the aerial satellite image, which appears to be a split rear window. It was actually this image that started the discussion that day355 refuted the "63 Corvette style" window. Really, the 250 P5 is nothing like it, and it would be great if it was like that in the F167. Your idea is great.
I would love to see this type of mostly glass canopy make it’s way to the F167 and I hope one of the fighter plane elements is exactly this! It would be like the response to an 812 Competizione focus group study … "Tell us what you liked LEAST about the car" lol
Then you are probably 12... Day355's inputs have been verified on many occasions, and I bet they will be again.
I like a lot of this with the small exception of the rear centre above and between the taillights which looks very much like the new Aston Vantage with that section that rises up then falls.
I was thinking. If the 296 GTB having 830 HP and the Revulto has 1000 HP there is no way this car would be less. I'm thinking 1050-1100 possibly. The F12 Berlinetta vs LP700 was around 30-40 HP. I can't see Ferrari losing this crown to Lamborghini.
That's the whole point of the V12 being replaced by the SF90 in May 2019, the V12 is no longer the top model, and, apparently, never will again. So it is free to be whatever, and it will definitely not be 1000+ HP, I doubt it will be more than 840HP, and, with rear wheel drive only, it will still be the "top model" in that category as those others mentioned are awd. The HP race "crown" is the SF90 and what replaces it.
That's the mule of the hypercar (LaFerrari's replacement). Nothing to do with the V12 (812's replacement) we are talking about here.
The only way the F140 (V12 block in 812 series and going back 20 years) could come anywhere near 1000hp in a street legal car, without any assistance, would require substantial changes such as pushing it to at least 7.7L. And with no electrical warnings and the quite unlikely presence of turbos/superchargers...I believe 840HP will be close if not exactly what is released. Remember, the V12 is "out", never to return as the flagship, see here: SF90 Stradale, Ferrari's flagship https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/magazine/articles/60-years-of-mid-engine-masterpieces-bloodline
