No, 3 things, 1 it could be that the cap was loose, 2, it could be the cap is bad, 3 could be overflow or bad filling from a service. Wipe it up, and watch it, did you get the recall done? I am not advocating the recall, I think it was a joke.

I'm sure you suspected those things, always try the most inexpensive thing first I always say. The most important thing here is that through your diligence and observation, you discovered the problem, that is the key, get it early.

My 2 cents, normal ? However, since it has been replaced in the recall the cap is venting properly. Thats provided the cap was screwed on properly.

Have you looked at the fluid level ?

There is always the chance that something is wrong because if the ( Ferrari logic ) the cap didnt vent it could cause brake failure.

So now your cap vents but there is some other underlining issue ?

IMO get Ferrari to check it out.

You can can some weeping. I do not see a lot of fluid in your photo.

Check the seals on the cap, soak it up, tighten the cap real good and then spray some degreaser and clean all around. Check it again after some drives where you use a lot of brake pressure.

Is brembo dot 4 the oem brake fluid? The reservoir cap state dot 4 only, but dot 5.1 have better boiling point, is it okay to use dot 5.1?

Your brake system was design for glycol based brake fluid. Your car came with Dot 4. DOT 3, 4 and DOT 5.1 are all glycol-based brake fluids. and are controlled by standards set out by the Department of Transportation (DOT). The main difference between these 3 brake fluids is their boiling points. Part of the standards that need to be met by the manufacturers of DOT fluids are the minimum dry and wet boiling points. If switching to DOT 5.1 use must fully flush your entire system including the ABS.

If you flush you brake fluid all the time like after every track weekend then dry boil point is the number to pay attention to. If you flush your fluid every year then wet boil point is the number to pay attention to. 5.1 is NOT a better fluid. Most 5.1 fluids spec data sheets show a lower wet boil point which is not ideal unless your are flushing fluid all the time.

In other words stay with DOT 4 fluid.

I use Moltul RBF660 Dot 4. Car requires dot 4. Castrol SRF is another dot 4 higher wet & dry boil, point you can use, These 2 fluids work great with a great history for cars that are tracked and in race cars too.
