how can you make the leap of how many cars are for sale to determine the amount produced? They have nothing to do with each other. However, I would agree that there are A LOT more Pistas than the 6k that many people estimate.

I just took one Speciale off the market last month, and the dealer has my Pista up. So happy I did it, even though my Pista was prettier. The driving experience in the Speciale is much more to me.

43 Speciale and 90 Pistas on sale on autoscout in Europe.

That being said, a number of the adds are agents who don't actually have cars for sale, but think you're gullible enough to pay them 5% to make some phone calls.

Hi! Pista fanboy here, so just slightly biased. on my second one actually. didnt love my speciale, my only regret was selling it before the covid boom. anyways...........from multiple sources only about 500 more Pista than the Speciale. but everyone in here has a very short selective memory. Before covid and the release of the Pista, Speciales were not as special as they are now. They were barely trading over msrp. and that was from 2016-2020. This is happening now to the Pista for the same reasons, but Speciale guys are saying its because the Pista is not the Speciale. I disagree. The Pista has not had the same moment because its still the "current" rear engine special series, not because it lacks something the Speciale has. Once the 296 Super-pista-Speciale comes out and everything has a battery in it, the same thing that happened to the Speciale will happen here. And one day well be comparing only 5 Pistas for sale to 50 of the 296 Special Series. In the end they are both incredible cars and will go up in value, and most importantly are fun to drive for the lucky owners. I just happen to prefer the looks of the pista a little more and the added power over the sound and "rawness" of the speciale. Coke or Pepsi. But the Pista is an all time hall of fame MVP and it deserves more respect than its getting. the thing is an absolute beauty and a champion. and trust me, one day it will shine in the same ways the Speciale has aged gracefully.

im sure someone will find a way to tell me how wrong i am lol but thats what this forum is for haha.

@ACSATCO yes I agree. While I’ve never owned nor driven a Speciale or Pista… if I was buying I’d pick the Pista… over all looks inside and out it is my grail car.

There’s no doubt it’s an incredible car. Lucky are the people that have both. I agree it’s better looking than the Speciale, I just found it not tickling one of my senses as much. It will do well over time as well.

W/o question Pista faster around track. But for pure entertainment value on road, Speciale wins for me.

Exactly. And that was the entire point of this thread, as it opened with this quote from DK Engineering:

"It's interesting, actually, we've had a lot of calls and emails from people in the last few weeks that have got Pistas, have ordered Pistas, have maybe had a Speciale, and have actually come full circle and haven't had the Pista very long, and are thinking about changing that into a Speciale. And I don't know whether that's partly a value proposition, as a Speciale is clearly a less expensive car than a Pista. But I think it's more than that. I think it's more about what these cars do. And a Speciale is less powerful than a Pista. But I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. And I think, potentially because of that, the cars are more engaging and involving. And don't forget, a Pista is turbo, so I do think you get a better sound out of these (Speciales). And I do think, possibly, they are more of a driver's car. So let's see what happens in the future on Pista and Speciale values. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Speciales be worth more than Pistas before not too long."

Your input is particularly meaningful in this regard, as you're coming out of a Pista, into a Speciale.

Every time I drove the Pista, I got out of the car with a smile. It was thrilling to drive, but I'd walk away, turn back and look at it, and not be fully satisfied. It was missing the aural thrill that I had grown to EXPECT from a Ferrari. That was it. The X pipe helped, and I imagine sport cats would as well. Perhaps I should have tried those, but I'm very happy to be going slower and more loudly in the Speciale. My SF90 Spider comes in the next week, so it will be interesting to see how that c compares to the Pista.

Comparing to the Pista, then did you also get the AF package on your SF90 spider? Which paint for the new spider?

I did, full AF package. It's Giallo Sirius, with a Blu Torrice and Grigio Competizioni Livery. Should be wild!

    I really appreciate this statement.

As a speciale guy who loves the experience,
It’s not when I get there, it’s how I get there.

Have tracked a pista but happy with what I’ve got.

I have yet to hear a Pista that sounds as good as this:

If you mean as sharp and precise, you're right. If you mean more fun, that'll be subjective.

Touché. And stopping for fuel more often? But the smile on the driver’s face may be bigger. Depends what you like.
