By coincidence I visited the factory in 1997 too. We are all hoping for a strong Scuderia resurrection in the coming years.. Le Mans victory this year was just fantastic.
I think that graphic may say more about Fangio and the current state of Formula 1 than those drivers. 4/5 of them have done it in the past 21 years. Not a slight against any of them, because they're all talented, but...
Fangio drove whatever the best car was. He changed cars (makes) during the season. Everyone seems to forget that.
Let's not forget that 3 of the 4 F1 teams Fangio drove for shut down after he won a title for them ! - Alfa Romeo stopped F1 at the end of 1951 after Fangio became WDC. - Mercedes withdrew from F1 at the end of 1955 with Fangio as champ. - Maserati closed its team at the end of 1957, when Fangio won his last WDC. So Fangio had to find another drive each time. As he couldn't get a factory drive for 1958, Fangio retired. Only Ferrari did stay in business after 1956, but Fangio and the Commandatore didn't get on, so the Argentine left.

I was just doing my daily catch up on the F1 section and this freaking guy is in every single post finding the most obscure reasons to talk about Hamilton. Dude, we get it you don't like Elton/Snu Snu or whatever other pet names you have for him. It's so boring, please Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agreed, if it was an amazing car Perez would be fighting Max for wins, just like both Bottas and Rosberg did with Lewis at Mercedes.
Stroll is driving better than Perez, yet Perez would still be leading the championship if something happened to Max. You all are trying too hard to protect Max. The RB is a dominant rocketship. Period. If Bottas was Max team mate they would have wrapped up the constructors in 5 races.
How did you come up with this notion. Divide Max's total points over the teams total points and you get a percentage. Divide Checo's total points over the teams total points and you get a percentage. Divide Alonso's total points over the teams total points and you get a percentage. Divide Strolls total points over the teams total points and you get a percentage. Compare and contrast. Thank-you. Also compare the gaps from Max and Perez in: 1) quali times 2) race lap times 3) seasonal points
You gotta ask them how they came up with the notion that the RB is not an amazing car. Look at the way Perez has been driving. Go add his points. See what percentage you will get. You will see that he is driving a like a fool and still would win the championship if it were'nt for Max.
@ktu Have compared Lewis's points vs Rosberg points for 2014, 2015, 2016 and gotten a percentage? That time was THE CAR!!
Of course Perez is beating all the other drivers BUT he's not even close to Max. Max takes the car to another level....so far from what Perez can take it. That's wasn't the case in 2014, 2015 and 2016 with Rosberg now was it?
I thought we was talking about the car being amazing. Now you switch back to talking about the drivers . Hard to keep up.
