It so happens that I am (for the first time ever) driving a Cadillac just now - I have hired an XT4 350D for a fortnight in Tuscany - and I am very impressed.

    Splendid, John. Enjoy it well.

My CTS is 2008 production, my daily driver, now approaching 100,000 trouble-free miles, 18 miles per (U.S.) gal over all, 24-25 mpg on the highway. I treat the 2006 supercharged STS-V as the 'collector' car that it is; Cadillac produced just 2,600 units in four years of production 2006-2009. See this interesting coverage:

They won't be. Too many made. And the more they go up the less they'll be driven. Keep them for what they're made for...intercontinental GTing!

I actually drove the 6-speed on Fiorano many years ago. It was a monumental car for the time, with very little electronic handling additions (ABS and some stability controls) - it was all hands and ass and IIRC, magnificent.

I have a 465M GTA now, which is an exceptional touring car and reflects my advancing years and desire for some anonymity.

    I agree, I have a 550 and a 330GTC, they only made 598 GTC’s and they are still in the 600/700k range only. I think very nice 550’s will tap,out at 230/250k.

They’re already worth 250,000 look at cargurus I think they’re gonna go way up , compare the population of earth during the 50s to now and the future population.. it’s okay if they made Almost 3000

If you compare car productions to world population of the same decade this car is as special as 250 gte and more special and exclusive than a 246 Dino

Ferrari noted the issues with the 550 and then brought out the 575M, which fixed most of them. Plus being more powerful and with a more robust gearbox.

9 years ago a thread was started (and remains very active) that ''maranello's will soon be £200K".

They're still regularly selling for well under £100k.

Does the odd one sell for a stupid amount of money at some auction? Sure. But if you use an outlier as an indication of future fortune you'll be disappointed.

Stop focusing on value and just drive it for as much as you can.

Charlie are you in the United States. Maranellos have traded significantly lower in Great Britain as well as mainland Europe.

Mine will never be worth $500K...it's gonna have too many miles on it ;). Close to 4K miles in 4 months...and I work from home!

Technically they are there...... £200K for a 575 in Manual in the UK.

Perhaps the OG on the thread was referring to these cars??

The real value is your life as an owner. I was pretty much "in love" after I sold my 456M and was hunting for a 550 in 2011-2013. When I bought the 550 in May 2013, I considdered trading up for a 512 TR that same year. There was one 512 TR in Sweden for 70.000 dollar in good condition. It was tempting, but my intended use favored the 550. Now ten years later I am still in love with the 550. Been sniffing on the idea of a F12, but... This weekend, I saw two different red 550s in Oslo for some very strange reason (I never see them). They are so beautiful, so sober and has so much more refined appearance compared to the newer models. The F12 has only two rear lights, none of which are off set of each other, and it has a "air duct" under the mirror that was fancy when it was new, but not really beautiful anymore... What can I say.. I have the best car I can have. It is me. I can take it through Monaco and people take pics like crazy and it is the perfect balance between a 275 and a F12. And reliable as a Massey Ferguson :) Yes, still in love.

Asking prices are not selling prices.

These are selling prices, notice the dates too:

    Exactly this!

If it goes up, great, you've offset some of the costs (it's tremendously thirsty but wonderful V12, it's lust for tyres for starters), if it goes down...who cares. Just keep driving it and then drive it some more.

Every time I see a 550 I just get so much happier than more modern Ferrari's...wonderful they are, no doubt about that, but I just know what a 550 owner feels when driving it is different than the most modern stuff.

Even though mine is red with unsubtle aftermarket fender shields that the PO added, I always get positive attention and I suspect the sound which is glorious now - just the right balance between beautiful and loud - adds a lot to how people perceive the car. These cars sound dull with the standard exhaust and sometimes obnoxious and too loud with a misjudged combination of aftermarket exhaust parts but when they are right not much can come close in terms of balance between visual and aural elegance, IMO.
