He did say in an interview that things sometimes get heated but that they are fine now. He called him 'bro'.

Find something else to fume about.

Why should anyone have to apologise on social media ? If it only concerns the interested parties and can be done in private.
As for the journo harassing Lance for comment following a massive disappointment, he got the reaction he deserved!

The only apology I have seen is from Mike Krack "speaking" for Lance Stroll......which in this case is typical.

In the world of sports, when anyone in the spotlight makes a poor choice that gets caught on camera or makes the news, they always issue a public apology. 9/10 it's PR written BS to save face, but that's how it goes. When there are sponsors, investors, and the name of the league (in this case Formula 1) involved, they typically also want to see some sort of public apology to show they do not condone such actions or language.

Even though I agree with you that a real apology would be done in private, and that is all that matters. But since we can't see or hear that, it would be nice to know Lance is aware he acted like a cry baby jerk and maybe he shouldn't be throwing a tantrum that caused damage, or breaking the rules, or shoving teammates, etc.

It comes across as just another example of a self entitled rich hiding behind his dad's money.

Nope, that's not how this particular scenario works according to some here. IF these sponsors, investors or employees don't like how this father-son F1 team works i.e. performance or lack thereof, outbursts against team members, reluctance of FIA mandated protocols then these sponsors, investors or team employees can leave on their own accord.

Some here love this father-son team and what they stand for even if it means going against the grain of team or FIA protocols. Screw everyone else....it's my money and I dictate what goes on in my team with regards to my son and how he dictates himself.

Boy this is rich!!(no pun intended). It will definitely prove a very successful approach of building an F1 team and being in the public or media's eye's.(sarcasm)

What I don't condone is hypocrisy, or fake attitude, so I have no time for this PR bull****.
I believe in people being themselves, and the F1 gurus are killing spontaneity on the altar of respectability, it seems.

Lance is a billionaire's wanker son charged with fulfilling his father's dreams/expectations. He is the most privileged driver in the history of F1 and he just doesn't have it. The emperor has no clothes.

He's had a long go at it all, to try and prove himself but you're right. It's just not there. A shock one off decent performance once in a blue moon is NOT a reason to keep occupying the seat. His dad owns Aston Martin and an F1 team out of it, which at a franchise are worth way more now so all is good in that department.

He should buy an LMDH chassis, paint it aston martin colours, hire 2 more teammates and start doing WEC. Buy a V10 F1 car to get the F1 speed thrill for when he's bored.

That remark could have been addressed to several drivers, but Lance Stroll is singled out because of family connection.

The rich kid label irritates some, it's obvious.

Norris is a rich kid too, and no one gives a toss about it...because he performs.

He came to the sport with much fanfare, outrageous claims from his dad that his son's ass simply can't cash.
His dad bought Prema and Stroll got given the best engines so he'd have the best chance of winning.
Another young driver was held back so he could teach Lance.
He's had the most rigorous testing program there has been in the last 25 years before he started his first race.
They upgraded the Williams sim but only Lance could use it.
His dad bought him an entire F1 team, the guy who made it possible was binned the moment Lance looked like **** next to him (luckily for Perez he got given the RB seat, but was essentially out of F1).

Here we are, 7 years later, senior personnel every now and then sing the praises just how good Lance is, The only teammate he's ever beaten was the equally unimpressive Sergei Sirotkin, and not exactly by a confident margin. Barely any margin, frankly speaking.

I know all that; it has been said and repeated on FChat often enough.
It seems to bother you a lot (and a few others), maybe because you have unrealistic expectations.
It doesn't bother me at all, watching Lance in F1. I know he isn't a star, and that's OK with me.

Man, again the level of hate is unbelievable.

Is Stroll a future WDC? Absolutely not, but neither are at least half the grid, also no one here is saying he is. But at the same time he thoroughly deserves(ed) a spot on the grid. I don't think anyone on here is defending his results this year, no argument they've been poor. My belief is that he's been mentally broken this year by his gap to Alonso, and that's leading to a negative feedback loop of lack of results make him desperate and try to hard, which leads to mistakes, which leads to further self doubt which leads to trying too hard etc. But if you look at his career as a whole, he has been respectable. Is it time for him to step away from F1 after this year? Maybe, maybe not, but he's had some good results and drives in the past. He has a handful of podiums, and as recently as two years ago finished one place behind his four time WDC team mate. Yes (these days) Alonso is a better, hungrier, driver than Seb was in his last couple of years, but Seb was/is still a very highly respected driver, team mate, team leader who's third on the all time win list, and joint 4th on the all time WDC list. To argue that performances that close to Seb come from a useless undeserving spoiled brat is ridiculous. There are many respected drivers through history that, even when with competitive teams, who have less to show. I get it his father is not liked by many for a variety of reasons. I get it that people find his public persona not appealing, but those who've actually met him tend to say he's a nice kid. But show me a driver who is universally liked by all? He's not a crap driver, he earned a shot at F1, he's had some good results, but things have gone to hell in a hand basket for him this year. It may be time to step down, it may be time for a mental reset over the winter. If he does stay, and has another year like this in 24 then it's certainly time to step down. But utterly dismissing his performance across the entirety of his career is ridiculous.

Motoracing, sport, life, career progression etc. None of them are fair in the effort x ability = results department. There is always luck, other indirect factors etc. that can lead to person B having more success than person B, even if person B is 'better' than A. It seems that Lance's biggest criticism is that his father has paid his way. So freaking what? IF anyone on here was a young kid with a passion for motoracing, and and had the skill, desire and drive to make it to Formula 1, had a multi billionaire father, I guarantee every one would have used the opportunity to try and make it. People don't complain that Senna had family ties in Brazil to fund him, or Lauda for using his family name (without parents consent) to get a loan to buy his way into F1 etc. So Lance got lucky in the genepool lottery, good for him. I wish him the best, including a reset over the winter.

Am I a Stroll fan? No, but I don't get the hatred.

When someone posts that they wish to see Lance's and/or his father's human rights violated, I'll start taking the accusations of "hate" seriously. The same goes for the accusations made in the Hamilton thread.I get the sense that those who throw that word around so carelessly here have never experienced, let alone, witnessed actual hatred personally.

No hate here. Stroll just makes it easy to critique his so called performance in an F1 car after 7 years. Alonso just enhances it even further.

And the further he stays in F1 the more criticism he will receive.

This is first year the press are openly asking the OBVIOUS -- why he still has a seat. Its glaring now he is costing the team money etc. He has also driven poorly, caused accidents, some really dangerous ones etc. Other than Daddy keeping him, he would have been fired lol. Thats a seat keeping real talent off the grid. Even Button questions it in the press. Its a joke now this siuation!
