with EV signaling the end of sportscars and the brand being strong it's important for them to test the water with other brand related ways of making money

the problem is in terms of fashion it's a really shortsighted attempt as there's no getting past the image of 'HEY LOOK I OWN A FERRARI AND IM WEARING FERRARI BRANDED CLOTHING' which is extremely cringe

Those cavallino rampante earings are enough to get me to have my ears pierced! :D

Oh, and without looking, I shudder to think how much that whole outfit costs.

Yeah, but the REAL tragedy isn't just the style. Did you see the price? So not only are you going to look ridiculous but you will enjoy being robbed at the same time.

You have to look at this behind the lens that to many, including myself - see Ferrari as a team first, everything else, second. Through this perspective, Ferrari has always whored out their logo to support their sports team. Whether it's official hair dryers, laptops, or speakers, Ferrari has a whole range of products that have nothing to do with cars. For decades.

Many argue that consumer goods (including road cars) have eclipsed that, and they are right.

However, their road cars are not the means of itself; they were, at first, an element to keep their sports team alive. Formula 1 is expensive; look at the graveyard of over 250 old constructors, engine manufacturers, and privateers that no longer participate because it's so costly. So as long as their Ferrari team is well funded, I'm peachy.

The black horsey often compels people to drop thousands of dollars on shirts that directly go to the coffers of the shareholders (as well as Scuderia Ferrari.) Is it 'worth it?' - well, is a white Fruit of the Loom cotton t-shirt with a Supreme logo worth $1,000? To me, no, but to many, yes.

As far as 'who buys these things?" Think of folks who care about Prada, Miu Miu, Gucci, and Armani. To me, Haute Couture lines always fall between homeless clothing and gag wear; that's why you've answered your question.

Yes - you are not their target customer for these things., and neither am I, well perhaps except when in Monaco. (A proper time and place or When in Rome, choose your aphorism.)

The question I ask as an SF fan and owner (both literal of their cars and stock) is - do these clothes improve the bottom line? Do they increase brand equity?

It's the only concern a sports fan should have when passing their team's tchotchke cart at any major sports event.

P.S. On a philosophical level, I always purchase some 'stake' (whether it be shares or season tickets for resale) in any sports team I support. It's nice Ferrari is one such organization, it's a direct rebuttal on hoi polloi that support a team just based on geographical or historical tribalism.

Paul, that is my question. Are they actually selling this crap? I know a lot of Ferrari owners in my area and none of them would be caught dead in this clothing. So are enough non-Ferrari owners buying this stuff?

I don't know. I go to Italy every year and I see many fashionable men and women, but I have never seen any Italian wearing that Ferrari gear.

Please educate us un-edumacated. I've always had somewhat of an admiration of Italian culture, hence the love for Ferrari. Maybe I've just been dead wrong.

Are Italians really walking around with this nonsense on? Kinda makes Japanese fashion seem normal.
