For some people tortellini is high dining.

For some people this is fashion: Collection Fall/Winter 2023 | Ferrari Store

For some people modding and tuning of cars is not only acceptable but even art.

To each his own, it all depends on your personal standards. It is definitely NOT for me.

 

The tech talk was/is the best part of this type of publication.

 

Every issue it devolved into a fight over editing. I got tired of the technically inaccurate rewrites.

 

Tortellini are considered "high dining"..........???

One must expect to pay a premium for tortellini with provenance.

 

I think ravioli are lower-class and tortellini are upper-class.

"Cavallino is the oldest, most accurate and enjoyable magazine about the heritage of Ferrari. "

Ferrari Club of America started "Prancing Horse" magazine in 1965.
Cavallino started in 1978.
So much for accuracy.

I'll also add 'lazy' to what Alberto wrote. These people at Conossa are an embarrassment. And clearly no one at Canossa really cares or knows any better. The powers that be over there should maybe stick to writing about tortellini.

 

They could write an essay about the 'Monument to the Tortellino'...,

but I wonder if they would even know the meaning, or the incredible subtlety about it...

Okay, so they miss on 2 of 3 (oldest and most accurate).
That leaves (most) enjoyable.
When they select such a well-defined, easily measured and objective metric such as 'most enjoyable', they can rest easy knowing that no one may question them on that account.

 

I was looking at an old copy of Cavallino (edition 8) and I note that it says Vol.2 No.8? A the time did the "Volume" signify the year - for example 1978 would have been Vol.1 and 1979 Vol.2. and so on, although I don't think "volumes" are now mentioned. I appear to have all copies from edition 13 along with a reprint of Edition 1 and a recently acquired edition 8 - I may try and build up the remaining missing low numbered editions, but the prices are astronomical. There is a supplier in the UK which I have used together with Albaco in Chicago.

 

After the first few issues (starting September 1978) the magazine experienced slight economical and other problems and for a while did not come out regularly every two months. This is when they gave up "Volumes" and changed to simply number each issue (January/February 1980, issue #9).

Horrible....RIP Cavallino.

I am just consolidating little by little all my issues and once I have a list of the missing ones I will start buying them little by little. Needless to say I am stopping at issue 250.

 

It looks like a piñata. I hope nobody hits it with a stick!

0713 is a 410 Superamerica Coupé Pinin Farina S2 1957.
07513 is the number of the 275 GTS Spider in the article.

All things considered the artist for Janices car probably had access to some good drugs for the sake of creativity.

It was Haight Ashbury after all.

The 355 looks more like a preschool class art project.

 

It was definitely a school of art that’s associated with a particular period and place.

My renewal rate went from $85 for two years to $99 for one year. That is over $16 per issue. I would rather put three gallons of gas in my Ferrari and go driving.

 

My subscription expired with 259, just in time. Whew!
