Your initial comment RE: S3 isn't entirely wrong Steve.

When new, restored or in mint condition, they look and go fabulously.

When poorly maintained and in poor condition (literally 95% of them), they look just a bit better than a Purvis Eureka.

I remember seeing them new in showrooms or on the road and thinking that looks bloody fantastic.

I would later see the same car just a 3-5 years later and it would be worn out and crap.

This is something that doesn't happen to Ferraris. You can see a rough one and still think "Wow, that still looks good".

Only hard copies in a box somewhere. I also made it to the cover of a magazine with both the Esprit and Elan - I've got that in a box somewhere, too (should have bought 10 copies).

I don't understand why Peter Stevens didn't fix the fugly A-pillar.

Otherwise, it was a really nice redesign.

Yes, I just assumed it would have been too expensive.

No. Fugly chrome rims are generally only found on Mondials.

    Here's Greg's new convertible.

How would you fix it? Keep in mind, the windscreen is a structural element.

Why couldn't you continue the quarter window forward, over the top of the structure, with a curve to match the C pillar?
