There is nothing "classic" about Ferraris made since the 599 and F430. All the gracious curves of the classic Ferraris from the 1960s were ditched in favour of boxy shapes since this generation. The 599/F430/612 are the only generation where their respective predecessors (575/360/456) and replacements (F12/458/FF) look better by a mile.
Let’s review. Personally, I see a lot of classic Ferrari in the 599. The only thing is the size of the 599 that is not classic Ferrari. Although in black we cannot see as well as with a clearer colour what is wrong with the 599 : the elegant and supple lines that suggest a single line penned from back to front on any of its predecessors were replaced with tensed lines that do not flow well front the front to the rear. I confess to liking the front section of the 599, bar the tall bonnet, but things start to go wrong from the A pillar to the back. There is no cohesion from back to front, as if 3 different teams designed the front, the center and the rear section and it seems the boss at the end found himself making odd arrangements to stick the 3 sections together.
... tastes are subjective, but 599 unfortuately it's H U G E...as many of pedestrian friendly new-millenium cars.
I agree with your comments about the rear portion of the 599. The car looks the business from the front...not so much from the 3/4 to rear of the car...only two tail lights doesn't help either.
Nevermind how many tail lights are used - the F12's 3/4 rear view is one of the best ever with only two tail lights, yet the 612's with 4 is simply hideous.
I agree. The way Timmo was describing the 599 I thought he was confusing it with a Testarossa which mind you came before the 550….. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Now this we agree on. The only car that trumps the F12 is the TDF. Simply doesn’t have a bad angle! Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
He wasn’t saving his wife for her next husband. Well done sirs! P.s. I want the audio with that photo…..drool….
Tony Adamowicz and Sam Posey drove that race. They finished second in class behind another 365 GTB/4 and sixth overall. 20.40
Eric, my 550 looks great from that angle too... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Pocono Raceway - June 27, 2010
And i think the 365 GTC/4 is missing in the line up… Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login and some „550 is the greatest car ever“ contribution: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
