    There is definitely and absolutely a successor to the SF90 and it is already in development.

    To me strategically and financially speaking it would : Ferrari reserve the V12 to a few very exclusive models for which they charge millions each, replace the 812 ( and maybe discontinue the sf90 and the v8 from standard production series at the same time) and release a nimble flashy, aerodynamic hyperfast , light and techy v6 (TT?) hybrid which will appeal to most of the new client base Ferrari target and who frankly buy their products and that engine becomes the new flagship of high performance later enhanced in the LaFerrari replacement. The NA V12 will continue in normal production wity the 812 GTS and purosangue ( for which demand will see a massive boost being the only production series v12 left) for years to come ensuring healthy revenue to invest into a new V12 down the road reserved for the VVIP, icona etc… again priced at millions a piece…all makes sense to me personally

    May I ask how do you know that mule or development is indeed the sf90 successor? Has the company confirmed there will be a successor?

    If there was competition between them, Ferrari would put an electric motor on the SP3 and sell it for $600k.

    The icona is a very limited edition hence will never be priced at $600k with or without an electric motor. For what it’s worth they did just that ie put an electric motor on LaFerrari which is worth over $4m. And its replacement will most likely be hybrid and be sold for high multiples of $600k. This has proved them that they can charge whatever they want even if they add an electric motor - the nature of the buyers has materially shifted and wealth chasing their products exploded

    Don’t worry the new car they are launching fits perfectly in the hands of what Ferrari customers want and need.

    Some would say that the 812 was a bit firm and hardcore to be a classic GT car.

    Just like the 550 Maranello was too GT and not enough sports back in the day.

    I agree.

    But let’s not forget….. this is Ferrari.

    If they make two cars derived from one then they make more sales.

    Just my two cents…….

    Got you

    although my personal opinion still is that the v6 tt hybrid will become the main family powerplant with different power outputs for each model based on tweaking the ecu on the turbo and more or less efficient electric motors
    It is no coincidence that the 488 got replaced by the 296, a v6, that there are talks of the laf replacement using that powertrain and that the last le mans hypercar also uses that powertrain while previously in history it was always v12 engines at le mans
    The v12 will continue to live on with the purosangue and 812 gts for a while and maybe once more on an icona who knows. Just my own prediction

    The F140 engine is pretty much maxed out, unless they increase the size.
    Cheaper materials though? When did you last see that?

    The new top Lambo has 1000 HP, so does the SF90 Stradale. The 812 replacement is not a Revuelto competitor, the SF90 is.

    When have you ever seen the company confirm anything before an actual press release? There is already an SF90 successor under development. Trust me bruh. Not saying how I know.

    Why does Ferrari have to have a direct competitor to any other manufacturer’s model?

    Ferrari Have no need to compete with Lambo. While over the decades Lambo have made some great models. They have never achieved the levels or success that Ferrari has. Lambo Don't have Gran Tourers so there is no comparison to make to Ferrari's. Anyone that say there is do not understand cars of market segments. The press will say anything to sell a story or get a click.

    Let’s not forget that the AMG 1 is a V6 and that is their hyper car.

    Not to mention F1 uses 6cyl too.

    Next year there will also be another new V8 line up too. Driver focused 458 like. Will be interesting to see if they add Turbos to this engine.

    Wheelbase is a good indicator of car size. If F167 figure (-33 mm) provided by day355 is correct, then we have this wheelbase comparison history:

    F: 599 GTB (2006) => F12 (2012) / 812 (2017) => F167 (2024?)
    L: Murcielago (2001) => Aventador (2011) => Revuelto (2023)

    Wheelbase:
    F: 2750 mm => 2720 mm => 2687 mm (-33 mm)?
    L: 2665 mm => 2700 mm => 2779 mm

    F: - 66 mm
    L: + 114 mm
    Diff: 180 mm

    Fingers crossed. The replacement is NOT a NA V12 at all, so my GTS will be classics...
