It's maybe not the classic Ferrari look, but it does definitely draw from Ferrari history. I see so much 250 LM in the 296 GTB Image Unavailable, Please Login
this is art too it will wipe the floor with any road car around any track, and it will end up costing you waaaaay less than tracking either the f8 or 296. but you have to make your own experiences with that i guess. a couple years from now you will remember this thread..... Yeah those are sweet af, but most people want a car they can drive to the track, track and then drive home from the track. The logistics of a track only car are a deal breaker for most people. I agree with what you said though.
lol, my incoming Lotus Emira is beautiful. It is dark verde, so people won't confuse it with a Ferrari. Yes, it looks more like a Ferrari than 296 does.
You may think the 296 is ugly but that is why they make chocolate and vanilla. Others enjoy the 296 for what it is.
Indeed. Then again, if everyone ate chocolate there wouldn't be enough for the rest of us, who only eat chocolate...
The 296 is bland, uninspiring, lacking distinction, and un-Ferrari-like. The 296 doesn't come even remotely close to the elegance, sportiness and exotic look of its predessor. Whatever preformance advantage the 296 might offer is completely irrelevant. There ..... I said it out loud.
It’s as if these guys actually think they’re going change anyone’s mind about the 296. It’s the superior car, and no amount of bad-mouthing it will ever change that fact.
We can argue about the styling all we want but you cannot help but respect the beast... 220mph top speed.
If I were keen on record figures I would have to change to the 296. Would I dislike the fumble of selecting one of the four Hybrid modes every time I drive, not. The F8 undoubtedly is one of the nicest looking Fs ever, still quick like a rocket with its award-winning V8. Perhaps the best turbocharged engine ever. Iconic. The 296 provides 830 hp, approx. 230 of which are electric. They can be utilized as long as the battery works. A few of full accelerations cause their end for a while. Not the way I like to drive a sportscar. Using the hybrid modus means continues start/stop of the engine while driving. An unpleasant imagination in every car, no way in a Ferrari. To go electric only or electrified with the engine running constantly are the remaining options. I know both of them: To me, unless both of them can be afforded, an F8 is the better choice. For now. I am probably not yet mature for a hybrid sports car. Perhaps to old. Or too much of a tradionalist: The F8 marks the end of an era, species like 296 rather at their beginning. To each their own.
You are exactly correct. It would be incredibly boring if we all liked the same model. When I migrated (notice I didn’t say upgraded) from the 458 to a 488, the bashing from the 458 crowd was unrelenting. To a slight extent, it diminished the excitement of 488 ownership. My comment above was likewise devoid of respect and sensitivity for the preference of others, for which I sincerely apologize.
No. It doesn't work that way. I never use hybrid mode. I only use performance or qualifying. Except when I'm leaving and entering my neighborhood. Thats when I use EV mode.
Seems like a lot of people are trying to FIND reasons not to like the 296. Seems silly. Like it or don't...no need to make stuff up
I remember this same discussion when the Kia Soul came out. People said, “but why upgrade from the PT Cruiser? It’s already automobile perfection. Pure sex appeal.” The answer was simple “pure speed. Track performance”. You may liken the looks of the F8 to the PT Cruiser, in that both are literal pieces of art, but on the road or on the track, you will simply see the rear ends of the Soul and 296. jfc that was hard to write I hope you boys enjoyed, especially Todd Cloud since he got me BANNED FROM THE EXHAUST THREAD
I dunno how the salesperson did it, but somehow I got on the waiting list for a 296. Delivery is probably for 2026, but the deposit goes in Monday. Hopefully I can keep both the F8 and 296
