No, actually, it's not. There was a Mille Miglia run in 1959, although I'm not sure I understand the rules (may have been some sort of rally?) There are a bunch of pictures of the car, and some Mille Miglia documents, here: https://madison-zamperini.smugmug.com/Cars/Ferrari365-GT-2-2/
in the morning ( german time ) when I was reading it says steel wheels. that is why I wonder and posted here
Is your opinion that this is the opportunity or the super risk? There may be engine stagnate problems s no video can show it runs. Do you see any big parts missing from this one? Thank you kindly https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-ferrari-365-gt-5/
There is no chance to see video of it running operation Carburretor parts are needed they say. Does the car look complete? Thank you
Good day Sergio, Wrong forum... This forum is for the 365 GT4 2+2 and the 400/412 series and so you will probably not get a lot of posts. Cheers, Sam
I think this car is really cool, given it's one owner history (is that right, Marcel?), colors, etc. I have also learned on BaT that if there is no video of photo of something, assume it doesn't have it or doesn't work. So the lack of a video showing the car running is a bit concerning for me. On the other hand, they mention it being serviced in 2022, and honestly the 365 2-cam motor is quite simple and robust, so it probably runs just fine. But a video would help a lot.
I don't see anything saying it doesn't run, although I don't see anything saying it does run either. Weird that someone sanded the "Pininfarina" script off the badges!
I think this car will need 2-3 years of TLC, mainly sorting electrical issues. When I see wires hanging below dash that tells me a lot. IF it runs, you can enjoy it and sort out the issues as you go. Exhaust looks like at least a partial replacement is needed; expensive for original but custom done would not be expensive but would lower value of a valuable car. Ken
Good day, My post was when the original thread was in the (365GT4 2+2, 400/412 series) and not the current one (Vintage)... Just so we are clear... the car in question is a 365GT 2+2 ... and so it is a different model than the 365GT4 2+2 that I mentioned in my post. This happens routinely because of the very close model naming. Cheers, Sam
This entire thread should be merged with the existing thread, where this car is already being discussed: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/one-owner-365gt-on-bat.683974/
No engine test, tools and books gone, seller does not seem to answer any questions and engaged then there is the serious red flag on condition. BAT used to be so very good and put their eyes in buyers position. This advert and the last Dino ad with only 40 pics seem so different at BAT?
One owner car and all tools and books are not in sale.. Seller seems aloof, perhaps books and tools will re-appear in future for sale from him
Thank you for the mmerged , apology for fast post in wrong forum. I was bidding but have now stopped because so much risk on condition and when the seller does not respond
Good day Sergio, It is unfortunate that the Seller is not more engaged, however, the auction info states that the car was owned by the seller's late father and so the seller may simply not know any of the car's intricate details, what are or the importance of the car's tools/books, or what is somewhat expected for selling specialty cars on BaT or elsewhere. This does not give the seller a total free pass, but could explain what has been unfolding. That said, it is a gamble if one is bidding, but then again virtually all online auctions have risk. Cheers, Sam
