I'm so sorry to read all this Pap. You are a good man that deserves better than this ****e. Life seems to get messier and more chaotic as time passes by - I often try to think of Billy Joels song "we didn't start the fire" when I start believing that the present times are uglier, crazier, more morally bankrupt and problematic than when we were growing up. But I do have my doubts. I live in the CBD in Melbourne and walk a lot at night - and the Sudanese gangs and white juvenile trash that I have deal with makes me despair. I don't really want to think that the current generation are less respectful, lazier and more lost than subsequent generations when you look at the political leadership across the globe, the decisions they make and their respective age, you gotta wonder if just isn't a human problem across the board.
Labor has nothing to do with it What have the LIBs achieved ....... FA What has LAB achieved ........FA Stupid comment as usual

Cheers Rennie, I appreciate the kind words. I've said it many times in the past, I feel sorry for my children and grandchildren that will come along one day. Their world will be proper ****ed I reckon. The world is a messed up place and only going to get worse from here. I am glad I had my upbringing when I did in the 80s and 90s. My kids don't know any better, they think they have the best life going which is **** when you really think about it. Sorry to hear you have to deal with vermin like that on your walks at night, be sure to stay safe out there mate. And that is a great song too! Takes me back to my childhood listening to 80s songs all the time, I love it.
Indeed!! But I fixed it the end....................no idea how I fixed it, but I fixed it lol. I removed the starter motor, posted those pics of the plunger and contacts earlier. I removed contacts and plunger and filed them slightly to clean them up and it all looked good. Re-fit starter motor and nope, it still wouldn't engage. Removed the starter motor for the 2nd time, checked the plunger and contacts again and ensured they were level and making good contact. Refit the starter motor and still no good, won't crank over!!! ****s sake! I then loaded tested battery thinking maybe the new battery Marc fit had dropped a cell. Nope, 12.4v and 507CCA out of 630CCA, not a problem. So I thought **** this, I removed the starter for the 3rd time and "bench tested it" on the ground. It engaged straight away plenty of times so I knew the pull in windings were good, so I thought maybe the hold in windings of the starter motor might be ****ed under load. Didn't make sense as it wasn't pulling the solenoid in, but I had it out anyway so may as well check it. I found a nice piece of rock hard Gigee tree out the back and loaded that **** up and it chewed that wood up nicely. I refit the starter motor after all that and it started perfectly 10 times in a row. No idea I fixed it so we will see how long my "fix" lasts lol. I was taking a mates young fella for a lap this afternoon, but it never happened because of this starter motor job, but it's all good as I will take him for a drive next days off in a weeks time. I think so, most here had it way better than I ever did. I would give my left nut to have been born in the 60s and grow up though that 60s, 70s and 80s era as a kid, teen and young adult. The music, the women, the cars and cheap real estate gives me a hard on just thinking about it!
Good job maestro,I've done the same same with the 80 as I'm pretty shore that being underwater for an hour in the Daintree river had something to do with it's problem.....
Thanks mate, maybe mine was drowned also. We will see how long it lasts mate, normally I would be confident cleaning those contacts and leveling them out, but it just happened out of nowhere and I don't really think I did anything to sort it after all that, so we will see how it goes.
Y'know you can thank 65,000 years of Murri ingenuity for that piece of gidgee, they're pretty good with pieces of stick.....
No fishing for you for a few days: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-10-27/fires-surround-mount-isa-as-residents-told-to-stay-alert/103029726
It’s Actually been pretty windy here the last few days so it’s coming in hot and closing in on some wannabe $1M estates just on the outskirts of town on the Curry side. Where my ice cube mate lives lol And This is how we battle bushfires out in the sticks, send a couple of 150T surface mining water trucks down the main drag with a multi vehicle police escort to the rescue lol Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
