Overall a good day for the Scuderia without any screwups!
    • no strategy blunders
    • no car failures
    • no driver mistakes
    • no disqualifications
    Hopefully its not a one-off.

one minor embarrassment - "the hards will be faster than the mediums in 5 laps!" they must find the source of their misunderstanding.

LEC was just a ferrari sandwich. PER controled whether there was going to be contact or not. In typical per fashion he is still making bad choices. Being reasonably fast in the best car isn't enough...

I'm with you. Ferrari didn't **** the bed on anything today. If the split the strategy people would *****. I really thought Ham was cooked on those tires.

Anyone who thinks the car Checo drives is identical Max’s car is kidding themselves. Same for thinking it wasn’t significant he went from winning 2 races to 10-15-16 when they made the jump to the RB18/19. Put Max in any other car on the grid and let’s see how many wins he gets.

I can't understand why Checo was going for the win in the first corner! Max is faster.

His only opportunity for a win is to be in 2nd and for Max to DNF or something goes wrong and he ends up far back, maybe safety car or something.

I think Hamilton is going to finish 2nd in the championship.

The bells didn't ring in Maranello tonight, but I took the 458 out and let her run. I'm happy. Ferrari didn't embarrass themselves. I'm calling it a win anyway.

I hate to say it, but the Ferraris in race trim are just SLOW.

Smoked off the line by both RBs.
Even when the mediums went off, Chuck couldn't keep up with Lewis.
Carlos couldn't keep up with Chuck all day. Did they turn his engine down more than Chucks?

Ferrari must be really paranoid about engine failures.
They seem to turn the engines down to "sunday drive" for the race.

I expected Max to be leading by lap 5, but by turn 2?

Good thing I record the races. After Ham passed Chuck, I fell asleep.
Had to watch the recording to see Norris flying, after that bad restart.

I think it's an emotional problem, more than a "racing incident".
Checo was "pumped up" by the frenzy around him , and wanted to do well at home.
That move was totally silly, with very little chance of success.
At this level, one cannot afford such immaturity.

Another wonderful day for Powered by Honda with P1, 7, 12 and DNF.
Folks here have skewered Mr. Perez for his I have to jump on it now leading to a DNF in the early stages of the first lap, please continue because he deserves it.
Considering the advances the Alpha Tauri folks have made, if Yuki didn't bungle a pass and if Mr Perez didn't show himself to be the fool in front of his adoring fanbase Powered by Honda would have placed 4 cars in the top 10 today (big assumption but not really that big).
Congrats to Ferrari for the P3 podium and P4, plus top of the table qualifiying.

Charles just had much better pace, even with some damage. But yeah Lewis did a good job on the Med. Further, kudos to Sainz, who once again showed some excellent driving holding off Russell.

Well, that was definitely true for Russell, but Hamilton seems to have finally gotten to grips with the merc (or they finally got it the way he likes) and Ferrari can't do anything with him.

Perez said later that he had to take the risk, expecting to overtake on the outside but then was surprised by Leclerc braking so late.
I knew from watching it on TV that he wasn't going to pull it off. No way !! Another wasted race ...

He said he wouldn't be a racing driver if he didn't go for it but was surprised that CL decided to be a racing driver and brake late also.

I'm sorry, I was embarrassed for Ferrari today. They didn't even look like they were trying. To go from positions 1 and 2 on the green flag, two 3 and 4 by the end of lap one, was pathetic. And in the last 20 laps...while Alphatauri and McLaren and Alpine and even Alfa Romeo, were fighting to move up the field...Ferrari acted like it was a photo shoot and they were posing for pictures. There were lots of drivers who behaved like race drivers, but Leclerc and Sainz were stagnant.

I don’t understand why people expected a different outcome for our boys during this race ?
Car is flawed from the beginning with a limited aero and mechanical concept.
Kudos to Vasseur and his team for maximizing results with this dog of a car..
4 poles the last 6 races are just an anomaly.
I’m happy everything else is improving whiting the team ( strategy, reliability, pit stop etc)
We only have to hope for next year..

if it wasn't for Perez damaging Leclerc at the start and the Red flag...Leclerc would've done 1 place better.
