There were no liens on 0858 at the point in time Medlin sold it subsequent to its no-sale at 2009 RM Maranello. I actually was involved in that subsequent sale of 0858. It was purchased only because it was needed as a part-exchange to pry 330 P3/4 (412 P) #0844 from its UK-based then-owner. Once 0844 was finally acquired, it was essentially simultaneously resold.

As much as I like this car I think the guidance is absurd. One race, albeit a pinnacle event, where it DNF, then missing proper front end, then in a hurricane and needing a nut & bolt restoration. I’d be shocked if someone shells out close to $2m for it but I guess we’ll see.

Though rarer, I just don’t see it being worth anything close to ‘79-82 BB/LM Silhouette money.

    Here's another pic I took of Medlin's 24131.
This one I took 4 June 1989 at the FCA Nationals in Road Atlanta, GA.

This special NART Boxer is, with the two Pozzi Boxer, one of only three made in Maranello in 1978. It doesn't matter if it only made one race, and it's much prettier without its ugly front end.
And why always over-restore cars that don't need it ? In the case of this BB, all they have to do is rebuild the engine and all the mechanical parts to keep it running and try to preserve as much of the unique paintwork and decoration as possible.

The “Ugly” front end was part of the original design hence important when talking about history and what made it 1:3. I’ll have a fuller inspection done prior to auction to determine what paint is original to the car but it’s apparent from photos that none of the livery is original from the Lm race so preserving it isn’t important. As to a simple mechanical restoration it’s dependent on what the next owner plans for the car but for me personally I’d track it and use it at other events which wouldn’t make me comfortable in leaving anything untouched. Someone who wants a lighter use may do less of a restoration but the reality is a proper restoration isn’t going to be significantly less costly by “preserving” the paintwork anyhow.

You were just a pup, 34 years ago wow! It would be interesting to see you with one of the cars from that day.

I’d say these cars did very well. When something that looks like a 70 year old wadded up York peppermint Patty wrapper can pull almost 2 mill…..;)

I picked up the C/4 at auction. when rec'd someone had lifted the original leather pouch and manuals either at RM auction or storage or shipping as well as tossed in two very used, non-related tires. still waiting on title! the plot continues.

I recently saw some photos of Medlin's collection--taken 30+ years ago in Florida.

I saw a 250 PF Cab. (Series I nearby to the GTO. I was told he had other cars at another location--which makes one wonder---
are there more cars belonging to him that may show up????

You may want to double check that. 3507 GT is displayed at Metropole in Druten but that doesn't automatically mean that FvH is the owner.......
Several cars displayed there do not belong to FvH.
