Hello Folks, So I was putting my '09 F430 away for the winter, wash, fuel stab, charger, etc. I disconnected the battery via the cut-off switch in the boot...and of course, closed the boot. I have a perfectly fine battery charging away for the winter BUT no power to open the boot, or anything else for that matter! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!! Best, MC
Thanks so much everyone, Need4Spd, Extreme1, Flash32!! Looked int he manual for "Boot Release" but its page 44 of the manual under "Luggage Compartment". LOL! Cheers and thanks again
Time to ditch that relic and get a true classic like my 355. Boot release is a nice latch left drivers foot well. my guess is there’s a probably a fuse jumper or the like you can use to open? Common problem for anyone with a dead battery.
If you haven't found it, there should be a manual release the dash. Cable 23 goes into the passenger compartment under the dash. On the 360 it's between the steering column and drivers door close to the lower dash. On the 430, I would think it's in the same area. HTH. Image Unavailable, Please Login
My tip is to open one of the doors so the window drops it's predetermined 1". Keep the door open until you disconnect the battery with the cut off switch. Every time I forget to do that when I go to open the door to retrieve something from the car and the battery is in disconnect mode, the glass does not drop (of course) and it pops out of the upper rubber seal to the body--- and I cringe.
I just always lower the windows whenever I work on the car, just incase you have to reach in for something without even opening the door.
