I would have given up long time ago, tried another team or another series.
No way anyone should have to be let down that way.
Leclerc's loyalty to Ferrari will be his downfall.

We have to trust Ferrari will build a good car, they did it last year (only for the fia to ruin it), they can do it again.

Both Vettel and LeClerc had cars that were good enough however the team blew it.

 

I know you're firmly in the Sainz camp, but I'm not really getting the pig-piling on Leclerc. He wants to win and I'd rather have that over someone who doesn't give a damn.

 

I hope so too.

 

Charles may prevail but it won't be at Ferrari. Ferrari is a company in need of a visionary autocrat. They don't have one, only shareholders.

 

When the race got red flagged it looked he was trying to get the car back to the pits. Had he driven to the pits before maybe they could have fixed the car.

 

Not against CL at all. I was one of the first to praise his "digital"/precision driving.
Not a fan of blaming F though.

 

Over the years, Leclerc (or his agent) could have made contact with several teams.
At least if he had signalled an interest they could have put him on their wish list if an opportunity came.
Mercedes had a vacancy when they decided to replace Bottas.
Same for Red Bull before they recruited Perez.
Also Aston Martin when Vettel announced he would quit;
Even McLaren could have been an option.
Maybe these teams didn't make an offer, since Leclerc always claim his undying faith in Ferrari, LOL
As it is, he could become another Chris Amon, Jacky Ickx or Jean Alesi and never win a title.

 

I'm thinking CS is moving on. He is speaking different now. I really like the two drivers. Charles can thinly slice it and Carlos can hit it with a hammer. Really a shame that Ferrari cant can the disgusting clothing line and the EVs and make a proper race car. I think Fred is moving it in the right direction, but there is a TON of inertia. I like my stock price, but I would rather win on Sunday. I can make more $$ someplace else.

 

I still think that Leclerc could do a better job than Perez at Red Bull, or Russell at Mercedes, or Norris at McLaren.
Would he be better than Alonso at Aston is debatable but he would have more years ahead of him.

He'd play 2nd fiddle at Merc and RB.

Aston and MCL would be a downgrade.

Like I said, it's easy to bang on F when comparing with the ideal (or RB )
but as things stand, he's better off staying put and develop himself as a driver and contribute to the team's development.

And if he leaves for the evil team, hope we get Piastri.

 

He is also to blame but you have to admit Ferrari hasn’t exactly helped him. They screw up even the most simple of strategies seemingly every race. Lol, they look like a bunch of monkeys ****ing a football! I also think Charles is overrated but I’d lay the blame for his dismal season at 50/50. Maybe even 60/40

Funny...Ferrari has sunk the careers of some really great drivers.

 

I'm going to acquiesce here to the guys that have been Ferrari folks way longer then I. I never say "we" when speaking of a race, its always Ferrari. I'm not part of the team. My Father did come from the old country and I own, and have owned a couple. I can hustle a car down a track, but am not as good at hustling one AROUND a track. That said I'm a Ferrari guy, not a whoever is winning guy. I do wish they would get back to the DNA of it and quit trying to sell trinkets. Next year...RIGHT

 

Sainz carried the entire Ferrari team across the finish line on his shoulders. But I'm sure he'd rather have been racing an Aston Martin and next to Alonzo. And Alonzo and Perez put on the show of the day. But Perez just didn't quite have it, and Alonzo showed everyone what you have to do if you really want it. Maybe AM is a good place for him to finish out his F1 career. They give him a car that he can fight for the podium with. He isn't looking for another WDC, he's looking to enjoy the art of racing against the best.

 

Right now, Lecler is playing second fiddle at Ferrari !!! Right now, Sainz is ahead of him, if you don't know.
Aston Martin and McLaren could become quite good in years to come.
There is also Audi, that nobody talks about, they are not coming to F1 to play second roles, I guess.
Of course he would have to impose himself in a new team that allows competition between drivers.

 

Lately I find Martin's gridwalk the highlight of the race
I wonder why he talks to people who have no reason to be on the grid in the first place
