At a dealership here there is a weird looking 348gtb Why weird, well it looks 355-ed - It has open door sills, not the 'testarossa vents' - It has 355 kind of rear lights not the 'testarossa vents' - it has a front lip - the seats recovered in ugly red leather not matching the car Was this a tuner car version or why on earth would one go make it look like a 355? I got the vin if anyone can check and assembly no. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would call it more of a race-car-ization than a 355-ization. More pics?? Those wheels are super rare (and ugly if you ask me) Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
The sidevents should be like this and not have a 355 rear light unit. It's almost like a left over part mix car between a 348 and a 355 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ok, but only if you admit posing a picture for reference of a stock 348 in the 348/355 forum on Ferrari Chat was a wildly unnecessary thing to do and worthy of a little gentle ribbing.
I understand that but it doesnt answer any questions. I believe bodypanels are interchangable between a 355 and 348. It also has a 355 rear light setup
Well.. the question is what is this car? Someone wanting to make his 348 look like a 355 or is there any chance it came like this from the factory as some weird concoction. Anyone here has access to a vin check/ option / spec sheet for this one.
It’s not a factory car. Dozens, if not hundreds, of self-hating 348 owners have removed their cars strakes and/or rectangular lights over the years. Very common. Over the years there have even been a few products manufactured for this very purpose.
Th That's very sad and value hurting.. Was this bolt on and are original parts available to undo this blasphemy? Where can one get a vincheck speclist as car likely black leather. Not sure if this says anything. Is this an option list? Image Unavailable, Please Login
You can find strakes and lights out there from wrecked cars. I don’t think that’s impossible. Wheels are actually very valuable. Maybe even $10K USD to the right buyer. Can we get a shot of its butt?
If you're talking about the sill panel, all 348's were like that, only difference is whether they were black or body color. The 355 had a different sill panel with the less squared off opening to match the door scoops. So in the first pic, the only difference from a 348 is removal of the door slats and rear panel (which we don't have a pic of) along with the fairly simple front lip, which are out there. Otherwise that's standard 348 with 348gtc wheels.
You can find strakes and lights out there from wrecked cars. I don’t think that’s impossible. Oh, so it's only a slat piece that can be put back easy? Are these slats available easily? Or the whole rear light assembly? No I'm not bored. But not online all the time. I didnt make a pic of the back lights but will do so if it's still there.
